“Non-random coincidence” by Dina Garipova and Sergei Zhilin. How did you come up with the idea of ​​a joint concert?


Earlier this week, Dina Garipova graced the closing ceremony of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival with her performance, having previously received the loudest applause on the red carpet. And the day before, the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan and Eurovision finalist spoke to the BUSINESS Online editorial office about her future big concert in Moscow with Sergei Zhilin, the reasons for rare solo performances in the capital of Tatarstan and her attitude towards the national stage.

“OUR CONCERT IS SUPPORTED BY TATARSTAN COMPANIES”

— Dina, your current visit to Kazan took place as part of the Muslim Film Festival.

— Yes, I haven’t been to the Muslim Film Festival yet, this is a debut for me. While I was invited to the concert as a musical guest, at the closing of the festival I performed Whitney Houston’s composition I will always love you from the film “The Bodyguard,” but in Italian. I don’t know how the cooperation will develop further, there are ideas, but it’s probably too early to tell anything. When there is a concrete understanding of what thoughts we can reproduce in life, then it will be possible to tell something. But it is worth saying that Milyausha Lyabibovna ( Aytuganova- Executive Director of KFMKapprox. ed.) - great job, what she does to support Muslim cinema is priceless.

— Are there any new film projects in your immediate plans?

— So far there have been no film projects in the plans, but if they offer, I’m ready. I am always open to new ideas and would like to act in films. I know that Elmira Kalimullina starred in the TV series “Golden Horde”, although I haven’t seen it yet.

— Mostly we all communicate when we see each other at concerts. Then, in fact, we will find out the news, who is going on what, or the Internet, social networks. It’s rare that we get to meet, everyone has busy schedules that often don’t coincide, and we end up in different cities. Although when we see each other, it’s always a stream of news and stories.


— In October, your big concert will take place in Moscow at one of the most prestigious Russian venues - the Kremlin Palace. You will perform together with the famous musician, director of the orchestra on the “Voice” project Sergei Zhilin. The title of the concert program is “Non-random coincidence.” Why?

— The name was invented based on the fact that when the idea of ​​the concert itself was being formed, everything came together based on coincidences. They were in our musical preferences, life situations, creative episodes, intersections. But the most important thing in all this is that from the moment of blind auditions on the “Voice” project, I had a dream - to do a joint concert with Sergei Sergeevich, because he is one of the best musicians of our time. The concert, of course, will feature songs from the project, which was the beginning of our collaboration with Sergei Zhilin and his orchestra, and there will be surprises, which again consist of some coincidences. For example, we are preparing a completely new song, a duet, where he will not only play, but also sing with me. In addition, at the concert I will present a new song - “The Fifth Element”, for which we recently shot a video clip. It was directed by Rustam Romanov, who created the previous video for my first original song, “You are for me,” for which I wrote both music and lyrics. We will also definitely perform other original compositions and well-known and beloved songs in our new arrangement.


— Besides you and Zhilin, who else will perform at the concert? Will Tatar artists participate?

— We decided to place greater emphasis on the fact that we will run the entire program independently, on our own, with our own numbers, and we reduced the number of guests to a minimum. Of course, there were many ideas, artists with whom we communicated and who were ready to perform with us, but we still decided that we would put it off for now. This is not a one-time concert, but a project, God willing, with a long continuation. Although some guests will still be there, for example Alexander Borisovich Gradsky, it is somehow unusual for us to hold a concert without him. Plus, I’m sure people who come to the concert will be happy to see him; he doesn’t appear on stage very often, mostly only in his theater. Moreover, the new season of “The Voice” has begun, and he again appeared there as a member of the jury. Radik Salimov, our Tatar composer, who plays the kurai superbly, will come, and I really love his music.

— So, there will be songs in the Tatar language?

- Necessarily. I told Sergei Sergeevich that we couldn’t live without them.

— And how did the famous jazzman react to this?

“This is, of course, new to him. But he is open to creative projects and is ready to experiment. We basically educate each other, he tells me something about jazz, some musical moves, but I haven’t used them yet, since I didn’t have that kind of experience performing jazz compositions. They sound rather pop, so he tries to tell me some nuances.

“There will be songs in the Tatar language. I told Sergei Sergeevich that we can’t live without them.”

— The concert poster lists the TNV channel and the authorized representative office of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia as partners. Do they support you?

— Our concert is supported by a lot of Tatar representative offices and companies in Moscow, probably all the largest ones. All this was not done by chance. Firstly, out of respect for Tatarstan, which supported me very much when I participated in “The Voice”, and largely thanks to this support I managed to win. And, since we are running a large advertising campaign, we would like to invite to cooperation all the Tatar organizations with which we ourselves are friends and work so that as many people as possible in our capital and the country as a whole learn about them. We would also really like for the maximum number of people from Tatarstan or simply Tatars living in Moscow to know about this concert, because this is certainly important for us.

Therefore, we turned to many Tatar representative offices. The first and most important is the plenipotentiary representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in Moscow. It should be noted that Ravil Kalimulovich ( Akhmetshin- Head of the Plenipotentiary Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federationapprox. ed.) and his entire team gave us great support. We are also supported by the companies “Bakhetle”, “Tatneft”, and, of course, we could not do without the TNV television channel, as well, because they have an anniversary this year, and we, in turn, try to provide maximum support to them.

— Are we talking about financial support for your concert with Zhilin in the Kremlin?

— No, we are not interested in financial support. We are more creative in exchanging various promotions, presenting them beautifully as part of our advertising campaign, they beautifully represent us. It’s worth saying here that this is only what we put on the poster. In terms of Tatar representatives in Moscow, we were supported by many, from small stores of national goods to restaurants of Tatar cuisine, schools where the Tatar language is taught, etc. So the Tatars do not abandon us, just as we do not abandon them ( smiling).

“WE DO NOT FIGHT FOR QUANTITY, BUT FOR QUALITY”

— How actively are you now involved in the Gradsky Hall theater of your mentor on “The Voice”?

— There will be my solo concert there, but a little later, in December. In general, it’s difficult to say whether it’s active or inactive. You can’t call it a theater in the usual sense, when you have to work inside and out, from Monday to Friday. There is no such thing there. When Alexander Borisovich created this theater, he immediately told all of us, the artists whom he invited, that he wanted the theater to be a place where we can open up, where we will be interested, we can experiment, where we will have our own studio, which he gradually equips. Since the theater opened not so long ago, he had not yet managed to finish everything that he had planned. Although the main part is done, he created an incredible scene! There is sound, and light, and a laser show, and screens, the stage can roll back and forth.


— How often do events take place there?

- Often. And often Alexander Borisovich puts on combined thematic concerts in which the entire troupe participates. For example, one of the closest ones will be a concert of The Beatles in early October, something like a tribute, by the way, all tickets have already been sold, and Alexander Borisovich, by popular demand, staged a second concert. We have Christmas evenings that start at the end of December and last through the New Year holidays. This is the most active time of the theater, because people come to relax and events take place every day. Although the hall there is not very large, not a thousand people, tickets sell out quickly. And the rest of the time, Alexander Borisovich slightly tries to burden us.

— By the way, your last solo performance in Kazan was in 2014. Aren't you afraid of losing the public's interest in you here, performing so rarely?

— We fight not for quantity, but for quality. To perform the same program every year, I think, this will please few people. Still, I want to bring something new. Naturally, when the “Voice” project ended, “Eurovision” passed, let’s say, there was a buzz around me, and everyone was waiting for the tour. Therefore, we tried to prepare it in a fairly short time, working and rehearsing with the musicians all summer. And in the fall we started riding all over Russia. After the tour, it went well, we immediately received an application for the next year to repeat it, which we did, capturing several more cities. Everything was also good, and we decided that we should do a new tour with a new program. Now enough time has passed and, I think, while we are preparing these two big concerts - in the Kremlin with Sergei Sergeevich and my solo show at Gradsky Hall - we will just have time to select a new program with which we can go again to Russia.

— Can we talk about specific dates?

— I don’t want to mislead anyone with any dates, it’s hard to say yet. I’ll try to prepare a new album and tour cities with it, I really want to stop by Kazan. It just happened one day that Kazan was not included in one of the tours on which we went with the winner of the third “Voice” Alexandra Vorobyova, participant of the same third season Valentina Biryukova and Polina Konkina (all artists of the Alexander Borisovich Theater). I don’t know for what reason, apparently, it depends on the concert manager, tour manager, they are in charge of organizing tours across cities, so it’s difficult for me to say anything. Of course, I was very upset, I wanted to speak here.

“I watched, I was curious what would change when new mentors appeared. It was really something else, but it was still interesting. And now, when the mentors we had have returned for the sixth season, especially warm feelings have arisen here.

— But there is a feeling that interest in the television project has decreased, and that it itself has stopped developing?

— For me it definitely hasn’t diminished, I continue to watch, this is a project that is dear to me. Although, as in any other program, there are certainly ups and downs, and sooner or later all projects come to an end. So far, “The Voice” has good ratings, it ranks quite high.


“We are NOW COMMUNICATING CLOSELY WITH OUR TATARSTAN GUYS JUKEBOX”

— Are there any plans for joint performances with anyone, new duets?

— There are ideas, yes. Both with foreign artists and with Russian ones. We are now in close contact with our Tatarstan guys Jukebox. Having met in person for the first time, eye to eye, although we knew each other, it was as if we had known each other for 100 years. We started a warm, friendly relationship, and we still communicate, meet, throw out some ideas, pass on demo versions of new songs. I think we’ll try to release something with them.

— Is there any support for people from Tatarstan in the capital in general? Not only among musicians.

- Of course, when we meet somewhere, we nod to each other. For example, we often meet with Marat Basharov at concerts and communicate. There are often meetings with Chulpan Khamatova. She has a foundation, and from time to time she invites me to speak there, for example, at a hospital for children. There was such a project “Winners” for children who coped with the disease, there were events for them. All this, naturally, goes on a friendly basis, and when I need some kind of support, she tries to help, suggest, do something.

— Singer MakSim also said in BUSINESS Online that she collaborated with the Chulpan Khamatova Foundation. Apparently, she is actively working with her fellow countrymen.

- Certainly. It’s like meeting someone from Russia abroad; you immediately feel as if you’ve met someone close to you. We were in Perm to celebrate Kurban Bayram. When you arrive there, it seems that this is not quite a Tatar city and you don’t expect to see so many people speaking your language. So, a huge number of people who speak Tatar live in Perm; they say that they lived near Zelenodolsk or in Kazan. There is a warm feeling from the people you meet there.

“I DO NOT DEPARTURE FROM THE PROGRESSION OF TATAR MUSIC”

— What can you say about the state of the Tatar stage?

— It’s difficult for me to say anything about the state of the Tatar stage, especially since I know a huge number of people from there. They themselves sometimes treat some things with humor that maybe someone scolds. There are things that the Tatar stage needs to work on, just as there is something to work on for the Russian stage.

I don’t want to scold the Tatar stage, I think that now it has become much better there. That is, people are trying to do something new, to step over... I won’t say traditions, they are preserved very well, for which we can praise. National motifs are used in music, musical, lyrical, and vocal beauty is preserved. Because, to be honest, it’s hard for me to listen when a Tatar song starts and there are borrowed foreign words in it. This is strange, because for me Tatar music is something from the soul...

- Mon...

- Yes, mon. This is something that will make you feel proud of your republic, your national language, music. And when I hear folk songs, I understand that it is beautiful and I really want to preserve it. The way they are trying to experiment now, yes, it’s true, there are probably mistakes, musicians are starting to go a little in the wrong direction, but the main part is trying to find that experiment where Tatar music will sound beautiful.


— Do you stick to Tatar motifs in your sound?

— I am not moving away from the progression of Tatar music. The first original song we made was in the Tatar language - “Kunel” (“Soul”), to the text of Gabdulla Tukay. I wrote the melody, then we made the arrangement. The goal was to show that it can also sound like this. Moreover, we work closely with Tatar authors, including Radik Salimov, Elmir Nizamov. Everything with him is still in the framework of tests, but Radik has successful songs that he wrote for the State Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan, and they are in the ensemble’s repertoire, for which we ask permission to perform in order to give them a new, even broader sound. And not because we have nothing to sing, but because we want to show not only those who speak Tatar and live in Tatarstan, but also others that the beauty of Tatar music exists and we should not forget about it. Therefore, thanks to the fact that we have a mixed audience, we can promote Tatar music in a new, not just a new modern, fashionable electronic sound, but in a new necessary and adequate sound.

“Won’t some of the Tatars complain to you about this novelty?”

- No. We were in search, and I tried to find how I feel this music, and not like, let’s now try to transfer it to bossa nova. I showed Tatar music to those who had not listened to it since childhood, like me, and they told me their associations of what it was like. We dug deep, looking for the sound that I would like to give to her, without changing or distorting. It is not necessary to insert an accordion or kurai into Tatar music; there is no need to make it a carbon copy. We have this mistake that we try to do a lot within the framework, but we need to get out of it a little. Which is exactly what we do.

In my case, it was a plus that my team is not Tatars, and for them I try to be the preservation of culture, and they try to bring something new, and what comes out, we glue together. Therefore, there were probably no attacks against us because we released this song. On the contrary, they responded well, saying that the song really sounds Tatar, but in a new way.


— In Tatarstan, there are groups that are trying to make Tatar music in a new way - the Oscar c7c5 group, teams from the Yummy Music studio, etc. Are you familiar with them?

— Not specifically with them, but I know these guys. There is a person with whom we communicated and were friends even before the project, his name is Yura Fedorov, but now we don’t see each other very often, unfortunately. He is a composer, also from Zelenodolsk, where we met. It was with him that we came up with ideas, he said that he wanted to help Tatar music reach a new level, he wanted to show something new. He and I started experimenting, taking old Tatar songs and reworking them in a new way. And in general there are a lot of such people, and I try to hold on to them. The same Radik Salimov is trying to make Tatar music a little differently. Even if you listen to his musical works, they still seem to sound Tatar, but there is a little something borrowed, he adds something of his own.


“TATARSTAN IS SO HUGE, SO MANY PEOPLE, MAYBE THEY SITT AND DON’T KNOW WHO TO SHOW THEIR SONGS?”

— Is there a chance for Tatar music to become popular throughout the country, throughout the world?

- Why not? Moreover, now there are more and more people from Tatarstan who live in Moscow. Even Alsou has released albums in Tatar, she also tries to promote her native language. When I was at Eurovision, being abroad, I also sang Tatar songs, to which people said what a beautiful language we have, how musical it is. And he is really musical, no matter what you say.

- Then why are they still unpopular?

— There are probably some nuances. Well, it’s okay, there is something to work on and something to work on. Nothing happens suddenly. There's more to come. It seems to me that it’s not a good option to delve into the past and look for answers to why it didn’t work out. It is better to step confidently into the future and believe that it will work out. We also have plans to release a Tatar album, but a little later, we want to approach it fundamentally. We want to take classic songs as well, but do them in our own way.

— Of course, I repeat, Radik Salimov, Elmir Nizamov are those with whom we have already had and are starting to experience cooperation. But such a huge Tatarstan, so many people, maybe they sit and don’t know who to show their songs to? So, we are waiting for them, I say this in all seriousness. Let them send their works, we will definitely listen to them all, we will definitely select some of them, they will definitely be included in the program, we will do a tour of Tatarstan, plus we will do a concert at Gradsky Hall with the presentation of an album of Tatar songs.

Moreover, Alexander Borisovich is really looking forward to a Tatar concert from me, because there are no other Tatars in his theater. In particular, when I showed him some Tatar songs, for example, I showed him mine, he didn’t even know that it was mine and said: “What good songs you have. Let's do a concert." He really likes it. He doesn’t understand how we make this Tatar melismatics. But she is very unique, unlike anyone else.

— Why don’t we see your video clips on music channels?

- I don’t see either ( laughs). This has its own complexity. Firstly, the channels have their own formats. Secondly, they have their own faces, the faces of the channel, which naturally will spin. And for them to take your video into rotation, you also need to fall under a certain format. We are also working on this matter, we are filming clips. As I already said, a new video is being presented, and perhaps it will just become our starting point.

— Having talent does not guarantee being included in the telerotation...

- Absolutely not. The format is such an inexplicable thing, it floats in the air and is impossible to understand. We probably need to get into our groove, or something, and I hope we will succeed soon.

Born on March 25, 1991 in the city of Zelenodolsk. Graduated from Kazan Federal University with a degree in journalism.

She took first place in the television project “The Voice” on Channel One in 2012. In the same year she was awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan.” She took fifth place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, performing the song What If. Dina, all your time is probably spent preparing for the big concert in the Kremlin, where you will perform with Sergei Zhilin?

Yes, I didn’t even have time to travel this summer. I couldn’t imagine at what point in time I would suddenly come in handy during the preparation of the concert, so I decided not to risk it and be in the access zone.

How did you come up with the idea of ​​a joint concert?

Sergei Sergeevich Zhilin (jazz pianist, composer, leader of the Phonograph-Jazz Band ensemble, whom the general public knows from the show “The Voice” - Ed.) and I have been planning this project for a long time. I have already given two big concerts at Crocus City Hall, but I decided that the Kremlin will also someday be in my creative biography. Sergei Sergeevich also planned a concert in the Kremlin. That's how we got along. It turns out that we have a lot of musical similarities in common. That’s why the concert was called “Non-random coincidence.” It will take place on October 7, we will perform both new songs and those that we remember from the “Voice” project.

Will there be special guests?

We invited Alexander Borisovich Gradsky to the concert. God grant that his health gets better! Now he has problems with his leg, but he is recovering. He has already returned to the mentor’s chair on the “Voice” project and will definitely be at the concert as a special guest. The children's choir of the Igor Krutoy Academy will also take part in the concert. We became very good friends with these guys. I often meet with them at events, we perform our joint song “The Time has Come.” We will definitely sing this song in the Kremlin.

Are you planning joint projects with Alexander Gradsky?

I serve as an artist in his theater. Our staff is quite large. Mostly these are guys from different seasons of “The Voice”. In October there will be a separate concert based on the repertoire of the Beatles at the Gradsky Hall. But there are no more tickets. And on December 23, I will have a solo concert there. I am also preparing for it.

What interesting things happened to you last summer?

We shot a video for the new song “The Fifth Element”. As soon as it gets a beautiful final picture, we will be able to present it. Another highlight was my participation in “New Wave” and Junior Eurovision: I sat on the jury and performed. It was interesting to see guys from other countries. Unexpectedly I met some guys I knew from Kazan. She supported them and suggested how to better prepare themselves vocally.

Will we see you in TV projects in the near future?

In connection with the preparations for the concert in the Kremlin, throughout September you can see me in various TV programs, I will talk about the concert.

Are you not invited to act in films?

From time to time I am invited to various film projects. But there have been no interesting offers as an actress or soundtrack performer yet. I hope there is more to come.

What advice do you have for aspiring artists who want to succeed?

Everyone is looking for their own way to cope with anxiety. Some people are given this - they don’t worry at all. I have met such people, they are already great artists. They said in all seriousness that they were not worried before going on stage and they never had any anxiety. But I have never been such a person, I always worried very much. What did I do? I tried to concentrate, pull myself together and not show it on stage. I would advise young performers to still overcome fear, if they have it. And tune in to the fact that you should do what you love. If you really like it, then the obstacles that will be in your way in any case must be overcome with dignity. Your mistake will also give you some experience, and you will discover a lot of new things for yourself. But if you suddenly realize that this is not your business and it’s too hard for you, maybe you really need to find yourself in something else.

Sergei Sergeevich Zhilin is a famous Russian musician, composer, conductor and teacher. The master is familiar to viewers from many popular television programs - “PROPERTY OF THE REPUBLIC”, “Two Stars”, “The Voice” and others. He is the leader of musical groups united under the name “Phonograph”.

The best jazz pianist of Russia according to the former US President Sergei Sergeevich Zhilin was born on October 23, 1966 in Moscow. From an early age the boy was immersed in the world of music headlong. My beloved grandmother, a violinist and pianist, began the “dipping” process. At two and a half years old, she sat her grandson at the piano. Grandmother and parents dreamed of raising Sergei to be an academic performer. The child studied academic music for four and sometimes six hours a day.

But this state of affairs did not always suit the boy. In one interview, Sergei recalled how one afternoon he locked his grandmother in the apartment to play football with friends. The boy pretended to be playing, and during breaks he changed into training clothes. And at one fine moment he simply ran out into the street, not forgetting to lock the door so that the granny would not take her beloved grandson home.

As a teenager, Sergei was fond of skiing. The young man loved to climb the mountain and dash down, and also learned to jump from a springboard. There was a case when Zhilin landed unsuccessfully and developed a crack in his palm. The boy’s teacher then cursed heavily.


As a child and teenager, he liked romantic composers. But after Liszt and Grieg, a new hobby suddenly appeared - jazz. The “fault” for this was the “Leningrad Dixieland” record, which was listened to to death. The grandmother was upset, the parents were surprised. But then Sergei surprised his relatives even more: he became very interested in aircraft modeling, football, bicycle racing and playing in two vocal and instrumental ensembles.

But this did not suit Sergei Zhilin’s mother. She resolutely took her son by the hand and led him to enter the military music school, where the guy would eventually become a real military musician, and in the future, a conductor of a military orchestra. The young talent demonstrated a very high level of musical training, but at the last moment Zhilin changed his mind. He realized that now he would have to forget about football, aircraft modeling and other hobbies.

Soon the guy achieved his goal. He enrolled in the Palace of Pioneers, in the aircraft modeling circle. Zhilin began collecting models professionally, took part in competitions, and soon became the champion of Moscow among schoolchildren in corded aircraft model air combat and even received the third youth rank.

In addition, the student managed to attend the Young Muscovite Theater, a vocal and instrumental ensemble and a jazz studio. He succeeded in everything except his lessons, which is why he came in last in terms of academic performance at the Central Music School. The parents were asked to transfer the guy to a simple secondary school so as not to spoil the picture of his academic performance. But even there Sergei Zhilin could not resist. After the eighth grade, he had to enter a vocational school. At school, he studied what interested him - music and his favorite aircraft modeling. As a result, he received the specialty “Electrician for aircraft equipment.”


After graduating from vocational school, Sergei Zhilin went to serve in the army. There the young man also found an opportunity to do what he loved - music. He served in the song and dance ensemble.

Music

The creative biography of Sergei Zhilin began in early childhood. From the age of two and a half, he went towards his calling - jazz music. She first captivated the child when the boy heard the record “Leningrad Dixieland.” Zhilin immediately tried to reproduce what he heard.


In 1982, Sergei Sergeevich came to enroll in a musical improvisation studio, and by the end of the first year a piano duet had formed - Sergei Zhilin and Mikhail Stefanyuk. The musicians played Scott Joplin's ragtimes and their own arrangements. This is how Phonograph was born.

The debut of “Phonograph” took place in the spring of 1983 at a jazz festival. A little later, at one of the festivals, Sergei Zhilin met the composer. He invited Phonograph to participate in the Moscow Jazz Festival. From the first steps of their independent creative path, the group of young musicians won the love of the public.

In 1992, at a pop competition in Yalta, Sergei Zhilin met with the artistic director and chief conductor of the Presidential Orchestra of the Russian Federation, Pavel Ovsyannikov. Ovsyannikov immediately drew attention to the high level of the musicians’ playing and their ability to quickly and efficiently make arrangements. Pavel Borisovich began to invite Zhilin to performances and tours with his orchestra.

So in 1994, a joint performance took place between pianist Sergei Zhilin and former US President Bill Clinton. Together they performed "Summertime" and "My Funny Valentine". Clinton played the saxophone, Zhilin accompanied on the piano. At the end, the ex-president of America complimented Sergei, saying that it was a great honor for him to play with the best jazz pianist in Russia.


By 1995, Sergei Zhilin’s “Phonograph” took shape into an organization – the “Phonograph” Cultural Center. And soon a recording studio was created, in which many famous Russian artists record to this day.

Today Sergei Zhilin is the leader of several musical groups united under the common name “Phonograph”: “Jazz-Trio”, “Jazz-Quartet”, “Jazz-Quintet”, “Jazz-Sextet”, “Dixie-Band”, “Jazz-Band” ", "Big Band", "Symphonic Jazz".

Zhilin himself creates the arrangements and acts as a conductor. In 2002, the television era began for Phonograph. Viewers of Channel One and the Rossiya channel saw Zhilin as the conductor of the television projects “Two Stars” and “Dancing with the Stars.”

In 2005, Sergei Zhilin was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.

In 2008, the orchestra took part in the filming of the TV show “Can You? Sing!” And from 2009 to 2016, “Phonograph” accompanied the stars of the “Property of the Republic” project.

In 2012, the country's main television channel released the sensational musical show "". Throughout all seasons, the live musical accompaniment of the project is provided by the Phonograph-Sympho-Jazz orchestra conducted by Sergei Zhilin. Participants' numbers are recorded in one take. Behind this are many hours of rehearsals with the orchestra.


On October 23, 2016, the anniversary evening of the maestro and the Phonograph orchestra took place on the main stage of the country. On this day Sergei celebrated his 50th birthday. Others came to congratulate the composer. Became a special guest. The concert evening was hosted by.

Personal life

The personal life of Sergei Zhilin is closed from the press and prying eyes. According to unconfirmed rumors, Zhilin had two marriages. The first left a son. The second wife was a soloist of Phonograph for a short period. Today Sergei Zhilin is divorced. Whether the musician has a soulmate is unknown. The maestro does not talk about family and relationships.
