Useful information (holofiber, synthetic winterizer)

As a result, many manufacturers call padding polyester different materials that differ not only in properties, but can also be of completely different quality. Let's dwell on this in a little more detail. It should be noted that low-quality types of padding polyester can be toxic and, as a result, harmful to health. Some types of adhesive synthetic winterizer can also emit toxic substances, in the manufacture of which toxic glue or synthetic winterizer is used, the raw material for which is the so-called. plastic trash. Of course, this type of padding polyester is very cheap, but in this case there is no need to talk about quality.

It is important to use recyclable materials for the production of synthetic winterizer, it is, first of all, protection and respect for nature and its resources and the ability to use inexpensive synthetic fillers. But such materials can be used only for certain types of products, which, unfortunately, is not always the case, they can also be found in goods for children, furniture, blankets, etc. Cheap toxic synthetic winterizer contains dyes that can cause allergies and even cancer: pesticides, formaldehydes, chlorine, heavy metals and phthalate resins.

Sintepon or synthetic batting is a non-woven bulk fabric. The synthetic winterizer of good quality is voluminous, resilient, lightweight, durable and soft. The surface of the padding polyester is uniform and with uniform shrinkage indicators. This type of padding polyester is used for filling furniture.

The synthetic winterizer is made from polyester fibers, wool and cotton fibers can be added.

Depending on the connection method, the synthetic winterizer is divided into:

    Glued (emulsion) sintepon. Synthetic fibers are connected with latex glue or PVA glue, it sounds more familiar. Such glue does not emit toxic substances, it is safe for health. The resulting synthetic winterizer is loose, voluminous, and such a synthetic winterizer is cheaper than needle-punched one. Sometimes an "overdose" is allowed to make the synthetic winterizer more elastic. The synthetic winterizer is sprinkled with glue, but the glue is washed out during washing, and the synthetic winterizer “crumbles”.

    Needle-punched synthetic winterizer. The fibers are connected mechanically. They are intertwined and fixed by multidirectional needle combs with bent needles. Such padding polyester tolerates washing well, is less breathable and is less susceptible to felting.

    Eurosintepon (thermally bonded sintepon). The fibers are bonded when exposed to high temperatures. Synthetic fibers are processed with low-melting polyester fiber. This type of padding polyester has good heat-shielding properties, light weight, it does not lose its properties during washing and compression.

In terms of structure, a synthetic winterizer is a non-woven fabric of several parallel layers, in which the fibers are oriented in one direction. There is also equipment for the production of canvases with misoriented fibers.

The synthetic winterizer of good quality is elastic, durable, does not deform when compressed, does not absorb water, dries quickly and does not become dusty.

Types of padding polyester:

    Shersepon. The synthetic winterizer contains natural wool, making the synthetic winterizer more heat-resistant and environmentally friendly. It is used in the manufacture of blankets. A synthetic winterizer with cotton fiber is more often used in mattress covers and quilted bedspreads.

    Syntheplast. Non-woven volumetric thermosiliconized fabric with the properties of padding polyester and wool-stepon with a high content of silicone, which enhances elasticity. It is used for the manufacture of blankets, mattress covers and upholstered furniture.

    Holofiber (synthetic fluff). This highly sinuous fiber also contains a high proportion of silicone with a 100% polyester core with a hollow structure. It has higher consumer properties than synthetic winterizer. Produced in the form of balls, plates and cloths.

Due to its properties, synthetic winterizer is widely used in the clothing industry, for the manufacture of workwear and outerwear. Sintepon is a classic filler for upholstered furniture, it is ideal for making quilted covers and mattresses. Even manufacturers of special uniforms for law enforcement agencies appreciate the excellent qualities of padding polyester.

Sintepon- a bulky non-woven material made of polyester fiber, used in the manufacture of garments, outerwear, quilts, upholstered furniture and other industries.

The synthetic winterizer keeps heat well and restores its shape. Sintepon insulation is the most profitable and optimal ratio of price and quality of material with high performance properties.

Basic properties:

  • ability to retain heat;
  • pomp and softness;
  • elasticity and firmness;
  • the ability to regain shape;
  • hygienic and environmental safety.

Sintepon (padding polyester)- a collective definition of synthetic insulation and fillers. There is no normative document governing the technical characteristics of a synthetic winterizer, there is not even a single definition of what a synthetic winterizer is - hence the complete confusion in the materials called "synthetic winterizer". As a result, manufacturers use this word to refer to completely different products.

Sintepon (synthetic batting)- non-woven bulk fabric. A high-quality synthetic winterizer has a voluminous structure, it is elastic, lightweight, has high strength and sufficient softness. It is characterized by a uniform surface and uniform shrinkage values. Due to these properties, it is precisely such a synthetic winterizer that should be used in the production of high-quality products.

The synthetic winterizer is made from 100% synthetic (polyester) fibers, sometimes with the addition of natural fibers: wool and cotton.

According to the method of connecting fibers, the synthetic winterizer is divided into three large groups:

  1. Glued (emulsion) sintepon. In glued padding polyester, the fibers are bonded together using a special latex glue, in common parlance PVA, which, after drying, does not emit harmful substances and therefore is safe for health (of course, if the manufacturer used non-toxic glue). Thanks to the glue technology, the synthetic winterizer looks loose and fluffy, while the glue technology is cheaper than the needle-punched one. However, in the manufacture of a synthetic winterizer, the so-called "overdose" is often "allowed" - to make the synthetic winterizer more elastic, it is additionally irrigated with glue.
  2. Needle-punched synthetic winterizer. Fibers are mechanically fastened by weaving and fixing multidirectional fibers with needle combs with serrated needles. Due to the fact that after processing the fibers of the outer layers are partially intertwined and mutually fixed, such a synthetic winterizer is less blown and less prone to piling.
  3. Thermally bonded sintepon (eurosintepon). The fibers of the thermally bonded padding polyester are bonded under the influence of elevated temperatures. The bonding material is polyester fiber with a fusible coating. Such a synthetic winterizer is characterized by excellent heat-shielding properties and low weight, moreover, it does not lose its qualities when compressed or washed. That is why thermally bonded synthetic winterizer is called Eurosintepon.

The structure of the padding polyester.

Sintepon is a fabric consisting of several layers located parallel to each other, where, with the traditional method of production, the fibers are predominantly oriented in one direction. There is also a unique equipment that makes it possible to produce fabrics with fibers misoriented in space, mixed with each other.

Characteristics of a padding polyester.
The synthetic winterizer has a wide range of densities (from 40 to 1500 g / m2), depending on the density, it is used for various purposes.
A high-quality synthetic winterizer has good breaking characteristics and high web uniformity (unevenness in weight should not exceed 5-10%.) The synthetic winterizer is a very light material.
The synthetic winterizer is moisture resistant - it does not absorb water, it dries quickly (more precisely, it flows down).

When using non-toxic, safe, high-quality polyester fiber, the synthetic winterizer retains its softness regardless of the period of its use, does not emit dust and does not cause allergies, is harmless to human health, environmentally friendly, hygienic and safe.
A good synthetic winterizer has elasticity, strength and resilience; it does not deform under repeated compression.

Varieties of padding polyester.

Sherstepon - has a natural component - sheep wool (more often wool of fine-wool breeds of sheep "Merino" is used). Sherstepon is similar in properties and characteristics to synthetic winterizer, has the same density and width, and due to the fine-wool structure of the sheep's hair, heat resistance and environmental friendliness increase.

Sinteplast is a highly siliconized non-woven volumetric thermally bonded fabric. It is characterized by the same properties as synthetic winterizer and sherstapon, but in its structure it has a high proportion of silicone, which increases elasticity. The density of synthetic resin can reach 600 g / m2.
Synthepukh (holofiber) is a highly sinuous siliconized fiber. Insulation and filling based on 100% polyester, hollow structure. Today it is a high-tech alternative to synthetic winterizer, having higher consumer properties. It is produced in the form of cloths, plates and "balls" (twisted fibers).

Awning products made of Sintepon material

In cases where it is necessary to provide an increased degree of insulation, a three-layer awning with insulation is used. The material of the fabric base of the awning consists of two outer layers of fabric and insulation between them.

Sintepon - a photo of the filler, we will tell you about the types, composition, properties and characteristics of the material, we will give a full comparison with other heaters, we will answer the question which is better. One of the most famous of all existing types of insulation is a synthetic winterizer, a photo of which is presented in the article. It is difficult to find a person who has never had a warm jacket in his wardrobe, which was sewn with synthetic winterizer filler. Despite the fact that this material contains only synthetic fibers, it has good thermal conductivity, similar to cotton or wool.

Types of padding polyester

Polyester fabric refers to non-woven materials. Several types are combined under this concept:

  • wool (wool stepon);
  • synthetic fluff;
  • holofiber.

These types are an improved copy of the synthetic winterizer material, formed by adding sheep wool to the composition (wool) or by changing the structure of the formation of fibers (holofiber, synthetic fluff).

We think it will be interesting for you in another article. Details are presented separately.

Sintepon or fluff

The question of what is better to use synthetic winterizer material or down as insulation for outerwear and blankets remains relevant to this day. When choosing, the heat-regulating properties of fillers and the features of their care are necessarily evaluated.

According to most buyers, natural down is considered warmer, but at the same time very light. In addition, it has good hygiene and breathability properties. But at the same time, it is quite difficult to care for products made of down. Synthetic insulation, on the contrary, is very unpretentious to maintain, does not deform during washing and does not lose its properties. In terms of thermal conductivity, it is slightly inferior to down, but the problem is easily solved with the help of an additional layer of filler in the jacket.

About that, you can find out from a separate article on the site.

Sintepon: composition, properties, characteristics

Sintepon is a synthetic material that contains polyester fibers. Occasionally, wool and cotton may be added to it. A synthetic winterizer fabric consists of several layers connected in parallel to each other. Its density varies from 40 g / m3 to 1.5 kg / m3, and the thickness depends on the application.

Basic properties:

  • lightness, low weight;
  • low hygroscopicity;
  • thermal insulation properties;
  • low melting point;
  • non-toxicity and safety;
  • resistance to deformation.

Advantages:

  • padding polyester products are light and soft;
  • retains heat well;
  • unpretentious care;
  • affordable price;
  • does not wrinkle or deform.

The disadvantages of insulation include:

  • not warm enough for outerwear;
  • becomes thin under the influence of washing;
  • when manufactured by the adhesive method, it can be unsafe for the body.

Fabric on padding polyester

Sintepon cloth is used for sewing many products: blankets, pillows, bedspreads, children's toys. Quilted lining fabric on padding polyester is ideal for making outerwear. This material is also widely used in furniture production. In this case, it is used as a lining between layers of fabric, and in order to fix the filler well, all layers are quilted.

If you need to know how to quilt a synthetic winterizer, just look at the lining of any outerwear. As a base, you will need a lining fabric based on polyester or mixed fibers. It is to her that the insulation is attached. A piece of matter is applied to it from above (it can be done immediately from below), and is passed with a machine needle in several directions, forming a mesh. Usually this technology is used when sewing blankets.

About that, you can find out from the special section "Care".

Important! The synthetic winterizer fabric is produced in three ways: thermal, glue and needle-punched. The first method is considered to be the best, in which the fibers are glued together under the influence of high temperature. This results in a durable and environmentally friendly material.

Holofiber

The filler for toys can be different, environmentally friendly and safe materials are perfect: cotton wool, synthetic winterizer, pieces of fabric, knitting threads, foam rubber.

Before turning out the sewn toy, the fabric is cut in all corners and folds to the very line, trying not to damage it. And then the parts are filled with packing.

In my experience, holofiber is the best filler. Such a toy turns out to be light, fluffy, keeps its shape perfectly, and easily tolerates washing.

In case the toy that you are going to make belongs to a very small child, you can fill it with some kind of cereal: rice, buckwheat, corn or pea grains. She will bring the baby not only joyful and vivid impressions, but also benefit. This is explained by the fact that the baby, having fun with this toy, gets light masses of palms and fingers, which contributes to the development of fine motor skills. It must be remembered that the seams on such toys are very strong, and the decorations used are very securely sewn so that the baby cannot tear them off and swallow them.

(based on materials from the manufacturer's website www.hollowfiber.ru)

"Holofiber" is the best filler for creating a soft toy.

Safety, warmth, softness, durability, the possibility of ordinary washing, comfort of sensations are the main criteria that distinguish "Holofiber" from other materials used in the manufacture of toys. The filler of the new generation TM "Holofiber" does not belong to the category of flammable.

The main properties of "Holofiber", taken into account by toy manufacturers:

* safety * quality * variety of densities (more than 800 varieties for toys of any style) * durability * practicality (easy to wash and clean)

"Holofiber" allows designers to use the most extraordinary visual means. Therefore, the toys are emotional, expressive, lively, warm.

Back in 2007, at the Congress of Manufacturers of Children's Products, which took place within the framework of the International Toy Exhibition, the Termopol company presented the concept of the domestic interindustry industry for creating products with safe polyester fillers of the latest generation "Holofiber" (soft toys, bedding, and teenage clothes, etc.).

A little about the "balls" TM "Holofiber" (filler for pillows, blankets, toys):

    Products with "balls" TM "Holofiber" are completely hygienic and environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic. It does not start a "dust mite". Fungus and mold do not develop. It is recommended by doctors for patients with allergies, as well as for babies with the possibility of using it in direct contact with the skin (sign "Trust in textiles" - Oeko-Tex Standard 100 class 1 (Germany).

    Extremely affordable. Pillows and blankets with such a filler are several times cheaper than down-feathers and woolen ones, but they are not inferior to them in terms of their main consumer properties.

    "Balls" TM "Holofiber" are extremely practical. The facts of 12 years of operation of products with "balls" of TM "Holofiber" are noted, while the period of use recommended by the manufacturer is 6-7 times less. In general, it is worth noting that the "balls" were originally conceived as a filler for disposable hotel and hospital bedding. But time has proved the practicality and high performance characteristics of NM "Hollofiber" for "... application without restrictions." Sintepon. What is a synthetic winterizer? What is he?

    Sintepon(in common parlance, synthetic winterizer or sentipon, sintepon or cintepon) is a voluminous, resilient, lightweight and soft nonwoven fabric made from 100% synthetic (polyester) fibers, sometimes with the addition of natural fibers: wool and cotton. It is also called synthetic batting or synthetic fluff.

    The advantages of padding polyester are lightness, good heat-shielding properties and low weight, as well as relative harmlessness to humans. However, some types of padding polyester can emit harmful substances, the use of which is justified by the adhesive (emulsion) connection of fibers.

    According to the method of connecting fibers, the synthetic winterizer is divided into three large groups:

    1. Glued (emulsion) synthetic winterizer;

    2. Needle-punched synthetic winterizer;

    3. Thermally bonded synthetic winterizer.

    In glued padding polyester the bond between the fibers is fixed with a special glue. With the help of glue technology, the synthetic winterizer looks loose and lush.

    Needle-punched synthetic winterizer is obtained by mechanically interweaving fibers with additional fixation of multidirectional fibers with serrated needles. After processing, the fibers of the outer layers are partially intertwined. Due to the partial mutual fixation of the threads, such a synthetic winterizer tolerates washing better and is less blown.

    Fiber thermally bonded padding polyester connect under the influence of elevated temperatures. Such a synthetic winterizer has excellent heat-shielding properties and low weight, moreover, as a result of crumpling or washing, it does not lose quality. Due to this, the thermally bonded synthetic winterizer is called Eurosintepon.

    The synthetic winterizer is a fabric consisting of several layers located parallel to each other, the individual fibers of which are predominantly oriented in one direction, which is due to the traditional production method.

    The synthetic winterizer is widely used in the light industry of nonwovens. The synthetic winterizer is distinguished by its density and scope: it is used in the production of upholstered furniture, insulated outerwear,.

    Sintepon is a classic version of material for furniture production When using this material, the furniture becomes very soft, and you can achieve a fairly beautiful shape of the product. In the process of furniture production, the material is used as a basis for furniture upholstery.

    Due to the low migration of fibers and high thermal insulation, synthetic winterizer is successfully used in the garment industry, for the manufacture of outerwear.

    Sintepon as insulation is a suitable base for bedding, home textiles (blankets, pillows and mattresses), decorative items, as well as camping equipment, workwear. A padding polyester lining will perfectly protect you from cold and wind in any weather, as padding polyester padding keeps heat well and restores its shape.

    The synthetic winterizer can be used for stuffing soft toys, for sewing fluffy soft toys: snowmen, snow women, snowballs, snowflakes. And also from synthetic winterizer you can sew details of toys: paw pads, muzzles, tails.

    The synthetic winterizer with the addition of natural fibers is ideal for use in quilted mattress covers and quilted bedspreads.

    In recent years, synthetic winterizer has begun to be made from recyclable materials, or remelted plastic waste (PET bottles, bags, disposable tableware, etc.). Sintepons are used for all types of insulated clothing, including children's clothing, as well as for the manufacture of blankets, bedspreads, sleeping and bivvy bags and other textiles.

    Cheap and not always high-quality synthetic winterizer is used today for all types of insulated clothing, including children's clothing, as well as for the manufacture of blankets, bedspreads and other textiles for the home. But the cheapness of the material, alas, is a "guarantee" of the low quality of the final product, its limited service life.

    In the manufacture of padding polyester, the so-called "overdose" is often "allowed". What's this? It is very simple - to make the synthetic winterizer more elastic, it is "sprayed" with latex glue, in common parlance PVA. The elasticity achieved in this way is obviously temporary in nature. The very first wash, even at a temperature of about 30-40 degrees, washes out the emulsion: the synthetic winterizer "crumbles".

    Holofiber can serve as an excellent alternative to synthetic winterizer.

    The synthetic winterizer and synthetic winterizer products should only be hand washed in warm water, at a temperature not exceeding 40C. It is recommended to wring out the synthetic winterizer without twisting. To dry a synthetic winterizer product, you need to lay it out on a flat surface.

    WATA. The use of VATA.

    Cotton wool is a fluffy mass of fibers, loosely intertwined in different directions.

    Household waddings are made from 100% natural cotton fibers, which guarantees high quality products. As a rule, it is bleached without chlorine.

    Wadded products have found application not only as just cotton wool, but also in the form of various products. These items include cotton pads, cotton swabs and cotton balls.

    And the use of cotton wool is possible in the manufacture of various crafts, for padding soft toys when sewing them with your own hands.

    By way of receiving distinguish between cotton wool:

    - natural: woolen, silk, down, cotton, linen, hemp, pine, asbestos;

    -artificial: cellulose, glass, metal, slag, basalt.

    Natural cotton wool according to the purpose, it is divided into clothing, furniture, technical (thermal insulation, fire-resistant, etc.), cushioning, sheet glued and medical.

    In the manufacture of cotton wool, the raw material is split, loosened and cleaned of impurities, the resulting fibrous mass is formed into so-called canvases on machines of a loosening-scattering unit. The formless mass of fiber that makes up the canvas, on the carding machine, turns into a scrap of cotton of a certain thickness.

    In the production of medical cotton, the raw material is cooked in alkali under pressure and then processed with sodium hyposulfite. As a result, the fiber acquires whiteness and characteristic properties - the ability to quickly wet and absorb liquids.

    Distinguish between hygroscopic and compress medical cotton wool.

    Absorbent cotton wool, white, easily exfoliates, is used as a material that absorbs liquid secretions when dressing wounds over layers of dressing gauze.

    Compressed cotton wool is used to warm a tied or bandaged part of the body (for example, with warming compresses), as well as a soft lining when applying immobilizing bandages (for example, plaster casts).

    Artificial cotton wool widely used in construction as a heat and sound insulating material; in the chemical industry - for the filtration of liquids and gases.

    A special type of cotton wool - the so-called vatilin, that is, cotton wool glued on one or both sides with an adhesive emulsion. Vatilin is a substitute for cotton wool when sewing clothes, cushioning material, etc.

    Types of seams in needlework

    Sewing basics

    Learning to use a needle is the same as learning to hold a spoon, pencil, paintbrush. When you start sewing, you sew stitches on the fabric - a seam is formed. The seams are different: connecting - they connect two parts of the fabric together; fasteners, with which the fabric is hemmed, close up the edges so that the edge of the fabric does not crumble, and finishing. The latter serve both for connection and for fixing, as well as for decorating the product.

    Now let's get acquainted with the seams that come in handy when creating toys.

    Seam "forward needle" (fig. 1, fig. 2, fig. 3) - the simplest, but at the same time the most necessary for any sewing work.

    It is a series of stitches and skips of the same length. It is performed like this:

    Attach the thread to the right edge of the fabric, making a 5mm stitch. After fastening the thread, insert the needle into the point of the second puncture and pull it along with the loop to the wrong side. After skipping 5mm, poke out the needle to the front side and make the second stitch, etc.

    Seam stitches and gaps must be of the same length and positioned from right to left.

    On the wrong side of the fabric, stitches of the same length will be placed between the right stitches. The stitch length can be different, not just 5mm.

    The stitches of this seam can be placed in two or more rows, thus creating a pattern. To speed up the work, you can type several stitches on the needle at once, then pulling the thread through them.

    Buttonhole seam(sometimes called the edge seam, because it is used to sew the edge of the fabric) - the loop stitches of the buttonhole seam must be performed from left to right, positioning them perpendicular to the edge of the fabric.

    Place the edge of the fabric on the index finger of your left hand and hold it with your thumb. Having made the first stitch on the fabric, move the needle towards you to lay the thread down, to the right and up from it, that is, in a loop. Stick the needle into the fabric, stepping back from the first stitch to the right, and sew a stitch along the wrong side from top to bottom so that the loop of the thread remains under the needle. Tighten the thread, make the third stitch, and so on. The seam stitches can be of different lengths.

    Blind seam - used when the product is almost ready and you need to carefully sew up the holes left for turning out and filling with packing, or connect ready-made parts.

    First, a puncture is made from the wrong side of the fabric and the needle is pulled to the front side of one of the parts. Further on the front side of the other part, one stitch of the seam "forward to the needle" is made, then the same stitch is made on the first part and the thread is tightened well. Keep the stitches small. So you need to sew the entire seam, at the end make a knot (strong bartack).

    After that, do not rush to cut the thread, use this little trick. In order to prevent the knot from coming loose over time, pass the needle through the torso or any other detail, and cut the thread at the point of the pin.

    Nodules- it is unacceptable to leave knots on the fabric. To avoid them, you need to make a small stitch on the fabric and pull the thread until there is a small end of the thread in the form of a loop. A needle with a working thread is threaded into this loop and tightened. Or you can just sew a few small stitches in one place. Also, by the way, they fasten (best of all on the seamy side of the fabric) the thread, finishing the work.

    Useful, interesting - the working thread is the thread that is sewn or embroidered.

    During work, it is necessary to ensure that the stitches are the same length and do not tighten the fabric.

    Particular attention should be paid to the left side of the embroidery (that is, the seamy side) - do not make knots and do not leave the ends of the threads, with long transitions hide the working thread under the embroidery.
