The Moscow Provincial Theater staged “The Adventures of Fandorin. Bloggers about the play "The Adventures of Fandorin" at the Moscow Provincial Theater The Adventures of Fandorin Provincial Theater

The absolutely light, elegant premiere of “The Adventures of Fandorin” took place at the Moscow Provincial Theater. This is a play based on Boris Akunin's novel "Leviathan", which is performed absolutely according to the book. Before us is a classic English detective story in a confined space, where anyone can be a killer. And, as in the book, this atmosphere is well conveyed on stage, flavored with gentle humor

Erast Fandorin, performed by Alexander Sokolovsky, is exactly what I imagined while reading the book - a taciturn macho dandy.

Perhaps, central role in the narrative of the play - the role of investigator Gustav Gosh (Leonid Gromov), who resembles old Lestrade from our film series about Holmes, performed by Brondukov. There are echoes of this ironically funny klutz policeman who considers himself the smartest. And the role of Gosh was a success for Leonid Gromov.

Clarissa Stump (Ekaterina Melnik) is a fatal beauty. Well, how can you not fall in love with someone like that and imagine her as the first killer.

Madame Truffaut (Victoria Skitskaya) is the same beauty with a certain sophistication.

Renata Kleber (Anna Snatkina) - yes, yes, she is also a beauty. Just like that, three beautiful women on one Leviathan. All the action is kept in the shadows, moreover, according to the play. she is also pregnant. But in the end, thanks to Fadorin, it becomes clear who is who, and here Snatkina reveals the full power of her talent, from touching defenselessness to a ruthless killer.

Monsieur Truffaut (Boris Khvoshnyansky) is a doctor who loves his wife. A very smooth role.

Anthony Sweetchild (Andrey Misilin) - a very interesting tragicomic role of the scientist who revealed the secret of the Maharaja's treasures. There is something of Paganel in him, who lives only by science. And this devotion to science, to the subject in general, is fascinating. He can draw an Indian dot on his forehead, and it is red in color, and this is a symbol of marriage among Indian women, but he should not be at all embarrassed about it. This can be attributed to his absent-mindedness. But at the same time, his logic is practically not inferior to Fandorin’s logic.

Gintaro Aono, Japanese (Azamat Nigmanov) is precisely Japanese. with his code of honor, which is restrained and comes to Fandorin’s aid, as a sign of gratitude for salvation from unjust arrest.

The scene of Renata Kleber's exposure is strong due to two characters - Fandorin and Kleber. And here it must be said that the duet in this scene of Sokolovsky and Snatkina was a plus.

Charles Renier (Maxim Amelchenko) is a very tragic and beautiful role, for which one can congratulate. There is love and rage and rage in love. Well, I would like to note the beauty of the scenery and the work of the lighting technicians. Everything is at a very high level.

A very accurate and exciting scene with the ghost of Rainier walking between the passengers is mesmerizing.

As we remember from Akunin’s first book, Fandorin’s bride is killed on her wedding day. And she, as it were. is invisibly present on the ship, foreshadowing trouble.

Reginald Milford-Stokes (Sergei Medvedev) - the actor conveyed the rushing person quite well hysterical person who is in love.

The fight scene between Fandorin and Rainier is one of the most powerful scenes in the play. It seems that the actors really hate each other and punch each other in the face. Very professionally delivered.

The powerful ending with the revelation of Kleber and the handkerchief shows the hidden inclination towards wealth in the characters' characters. The war for the scarf, which is the key to the treasures of the Maharaja, is serious. Well, actually, what would you do if you had the opportunity to get the key to countless treasures? Probably each of us would behave the same way.

The scarf passes from one hand to another. And a weapon appears. The Japanese helps to stop the fight and the handkerchief ends up in Fandorin’s hands. And here Fandorin does something that none of us would do. He burns a handkerchief with the words that the hidden treasures there are enough for the entire budget of Russia, but nothing, we will hold on. What causes sad laughter in the hall. And a chandelier falls on Madame Kleber. AND Fandorin is left alone with his memories of his bride. And the crystal-sad “I was driving home” does not lead to a house that was destroyed.

You need to go to this wonderful performance to relax, think, and look at the wonderful acting and beautiful scenery.

The premiere was a success and I want to congratulate the Moscow Provincial Theater on it.

On September 23, we watched the premiere play "The Adventures of Fandorin." MGT has set itself difficult task: firstly, it seems to me, on theater stage It’s quite difficult to stage a detective story so that it’s not only exciting, but truly scary and realistic, and the second difficulty is the very appeal to the image of a famous detective, because readers and viewers of film adaptations know for sure what he should be like) and “keep in front of eyes" original author's text.
Some time in the first act of the performance was required for a unique presentation of all the numerous characters"Leviathan" (the novel on which the play is based) and a certain introduction to the audience "up to date." This, in my opinion, slowed down the action somewhat and event series“adventures” and it was not Fandorin who came to the fore, but Commissar Gosh, who was played brightly and, as they say, “in broad strokes”, addressing not only his partners, but also appealing to the audience, played by Leonid Gromov. Fandorin, in my opinion, was few and far between. Although, on the other hand, in the novel, Erast Petrovich also for the time being acts as an observer and listener. Finally, in the second act, Fandorin ceased to be an observer and turned into the main participant in terrible, romantic and mystical events. Alexander Sokolovsky definitely plays a hero who has not yet become the “emotional invalid” (c) that he will appear to others later. Noble, insightful and courageous, he is perceived in this story as more of a romantic hero, as opposed to the “old bloodhound” (as he calls himself) Gauche.
The hero's romanticism, his personal tragedy and chivalry on the side of the forces of light in the eternal struggle between good and evil are reflected in the image of a ghost girl (the ghost of his tragically deceased young wife) who accompanies Fandorin and the floating "Leviathan" throughout the entire story. The ghost is either a bright vision-memory, or an ominous harbinger of upcoming murders, or Death itself, taking away its new subjects... In the finale, after a seemingly triumphantly won victory, Fandorin, in hopeless despair, will fall at the head of his dead beloved and, not in unable to hold back tears, he will kiss her hair...
The unfolding chain of events makes it hard to follow plot twists performance and “tearing off the masks” from the characters, many of whom, as it should be in a real detective story, turn out to be not at all who they seemed at first. At the same time, the production also has funny moments, “untranslatable puns”), witty jokes on financial and political topics).
Traditionally, performances at the Provincial Theater delight with their scenography. So this time, the costumes of the characters made a great impression; unusual decorations: huge portholes, a pendulum steering wheel with spotlights, fluttering sails; sounding music and special effects that recreate thunderstorms and storms. On the stage there was even a working phonograph and a two-wheeled penny-farthing bicycle, on which Fandorin rode along the promenade deck, and in the finale rode out to bow!
Of the characters we saw, I would also like to note the Indologist-archaeologist Sweetchild, performed by Andrei Misilin: his waving arms and sparkling eyes of a scientist, whose hair even seemed to stand on end when he excitedly began to talk about the treasures of the Indian Rajah, captivated the entire audience. An interesting character- Baronet Milford-Stokes, played by Sergei Medvedev, turned out to be both arrogant and hunted at the same time (the owner of expressive facial expressions and a charming smile appeared in a new and very unexpected image).
And of course, bows! They are wonderful at the Provincial Theater. The bows to "The Adventures of Fandorin" became a real parade of characters and a separate little performance!
Many thanks to all the actors, director Tatyana Vdovichenko, artistic director of the production Sergei Bezrukov and all the creators of the play! Thank you for the performance, thanks to which fans of the detective Fandorin were able to plunge into the authentic atmosphere of Akunin’s books, fans of the detective genre became witnesses and participants in fascinating action-packed collisions, the audience who had not read the original source were able to test their deductive and analytical abilities, and all together simply get pleasure and food for thought from everything they saw. Congratulations to the Moscow Provincial Theater and wish a happy journey to “The Adventures of Fandorin” on the “Leviathan”, which left the Provincial Shipyard! Happy Premiere!

Third time I went to Moskovsky provincial theater"And for the third time, a wonderful evening and a lot of emotions. This time I was with my son at the play "The Adventures of Fandorin."
The performance is based on Boris Akunin’s novel “Leviathan,” the third book in the famous series of historical detective stories about Erast Fandorin.
Erast is sent on the ship "Leviathan" to serve in Japan as an embassy secretary Russian Empire, but mysterious murders occur here too. The French detective Gustave Gauche, superbly played by Leonid Gromov, is also on the ship, investigating murder mystery Lord Littleby and his family, which took place in Paris. And now a trail of blood leads the police commissioner to the ship, where only the cream of society is! There are no third class cabins here, all passengers are respected and respectable gentlemen and ladies. Is there really a murderer among them? It's hard to believe, but we need to figure it out. The detective suspects everyone who does not have the golden ship badge that was given to first class passengers along with their ticket. Even Erast Fandorin is among the suspects!
Putting a detective story on stage to make it really interesting and exciting is not an easy task. And the theater coped with this task perfectly! Music, dim lighting, and amazing scenery create an atmosphere of mystery and mysticism from the first minutes. At the same time, the scene is not overloaded with unnecessary elements, but even small details, such as a phonograph, a two-wheeled penny-farthing bicycle, a pendulum steering wheel, complement the picture and take us to the beginning of the 20th century on the ship.
There is a lot of dialogue in the play, but the brilliant acting of the actors brightens up some of the static nature of the narrative. I would also especially like to note the performance of Oleg Kurlov (scientist Anthony Sweetchild). When Anthony began to talk about the treasures and the raj, the whole room held its breath.
As for Fandorin himself, this is exactly how I imagined him: a gallant, educated, but at the same time deeply unhappy and lonely person. According to the director's idea, a mysterious ghost girl appears on the stage. This is Fandorin's bride, who died tragically on her wedding day. This image both captivates and frightens; for Erast it is a painful memory and regret of someone who can no longer be resurrected...
If the first act was introductory and more leisurely, then in the second part events began to happen at a terrifying speed. That's where the dynamics were! Just have time! At the same time, jokes and references to our realities lightened the atmosphere a little, without harming the plot and the general atmosphere of the performance.
In the finale, all the secrets will be revealed, but at the same time I was left with a slightly sad aftertaste. Fandorin does not feel victory, he won, but did not find happiness. His happiness, his love died in a terrible explosion several years ago... Well, Erast patiently bears his cross, although this adventure on the ship gave him a friend and the love of a charming English lady.
The strictest spectators, of course, were teenagers, of whom there were quite a few at this performance. I was with my son and he really liked it. He is now just at that age when it is quite difficult to choose performances: he has already grown up from children’s, but has not reached adult level. At the same time, he wants plot and entertainment, but I have certain requirements for the level of production, it is desirable that there is something to discuss after viewing. And “The Adventures of Fandorin” is a perfect hit! By the way, not only here: during the intermission, many children discussed what was happening with their parents, everyone was involved in the plot.
I would especially like to note the finale and the bowing of the artists. All the images passed before us, each actor presented his character.
Many thanks to all the creators of the play, actors, director Tatyana Vdovchenko for this wonderful evening!

Last Saturday we suddenly found ourselves among the lucky few who were lucky enough to be among the first class passengers on the Leviathan. How? Yes, because in addition to tickets we received gold badges with a picture of a whale.

Remember?
"By the evening of the next day, Ghosh knew that the three letters on the golden whale were not the initials of some debt-ridden playmaker, but the designation of the newly created Franco-British shipping consortium. The whale turned out to be the emblem of the miracle ship “Leviathan,” which had recently been launched from the stocks in Bristol and was preparing for its first voyage to India. Newspapers had been trumpeting about the giant steamer for months. Now it turned out that on the eve of the first voyage of the Leviathan, London mint minted gold and silver commemorative badges: gold for first class passengers and senior officers of the ship, silver for second class passengers and subalterns"...

I read the detective story itself about 15 years ago, I forgot the plot, so Detective story on board, staged at the Moscow Provincial Theater, captivated me completely. A closed space, a limited set of characters and the right amount of irony. The style of a good English detective in its best traditions. Sheer pleasure.

Of course, the first question that arises is whether the image of Fandorin was a success? Will the already familiar Fandorin-Menshikov interfere with perception? So, here you can immediately calm down. Fandorin is impeccable. The right appearance, the right slimness. A calm, intelligent, ironic and at the same time deeply lonely person.
The latter is repeatedly emphasized by the presence in the play of the image of Fandorin’s dead bride and the movement of the murdered passengers into the world on the other side of life. And this part of the action turns just a good detective story into something more. More precisely, it gives the image of the main character new shades. Fandorin is constantly on the border between good and evil, between the material and the otherworldly. And even his riding on a newfangled bicycle - with a large and small wheel, delighting both passengers and spectators, no longer seems only to be an extremely spectacular detail, but a movement on the edge of an abyss. However, all these associations and reflections arise only closer to the end.

Before that, two exciting events on board the ship, filled with the rustle of dresses, the fragrant aroma of tobacco and observation of passengers, fly by unnoticed. By the way, we guessed the killer at the end of the first act. And for some time it seemed that, well, everything is obvious, why doesn’t Fandorin see the obvious? But new details appeared and we began to doubt.

Perhaps the ladies seemed a little the same to me; I wanted a little more accentuated images. But then I thought that actually they should be a little different. Still, the cream of society. A step to the right, a step to the left - and you fall out of the generally accepted image. For example, Police Commissioner Gosh looked like a man from a completely different circle. But by the second act the ladies showed their true nature :)

The production is wonderful. Quite cinematic, by the way, and somewhat reminiscent of good old cozy film performances, if you remember those. Although the scenery changes and sometimes quite whimsically. The thunderstorm discharges and the deck, illuminated by lightning against the backdrop of the bluish-green expanses of the sea, looked very impressive.

What’s interesting is that this is a rare performance that can be called universal from the point of view of the audience. This is a performance, tickets for which will please both the aesthetic theater critic, and the lover of detective stories as such, and young romantics, and mature skeptics. Great option For autumn evening. I sincerely recommend it!

The performance was arrested for its beauty

Fascinating performance! Beautiful costumes and scenery that completely immerse you in the plot. Despite the slightly drawn out beginning, then you are completely immersed in the story and empathize with the characters! Wonderful production and great acting!

Sergei Bezrukov rethought Boris Akunin’s novel “Leviathan”

At the entrance to the Provincial Theater, a sweet girl with a basket of badges depicting a toothed whale greets the audience with the words: “We welcome you aboard our ship.” Each spectator is entitled to one whale in his hands. The stamp on the ticket indicates its receipt. The golden whale is the emblem of the Leviathan ship, on which we will all soon find ourselves. Every first class passenger in Boris Akunin's historical detective story about Erast Fandorin received it along with his ticket.

For the first time, a detective story was staged in the theater directed by Sergei Bezrukov. “Leviathan” by Akunin is the third book in a series of historical detective stories about Erast Fandorin, extremely popular work. Someday researchers will unravel the mystery of its crazy demand. “The Adventures of Fandorin” was staged by Tatyana Vdovichenko, and artistic director performance is listed as Sergei Bezrukov, responsible for repertoire policy of your theater.

Why did the Provincial Theater need Fandorin? Sergei Bezrukov himself explains it this way: “On the playbill of any theater, along with complex performances that force the viewer to “work” and think about the problems raised in the production, there must be performances - holidays where you can relax. It is important, of course, that it be good literary or dramatic material.”

“Leviathan,” now known to everyone thanks to Andrei Zvyagintsev’s film, is a terrible Old Testament animal from the book of Job, which is explained to the audience during the performance. This terrible beast migrated to Akunin’s novel in the form of the name of the largest ship in the world. On board it, the heroes of the play set sail, and among them is the young man Erast Petrovich Fandorin. He is on his way to his duty station in Japan, where he is sent as secretary of the embassy of the Russian Empire. A detective story unfolds on board, which unravels in the image and likeness of “A Purely English Murder” - several heroes and an alleged criminal are imprisoned in one room, who has to be identified. Lord Littleby is killed in Paris. A badge was found in his hand, approximately the same as the one we were given at the entrance, in the form of a golden whale. There is a possibility that it was torn from the killer of the unfortunate lord. This means the killer may be aboard the Leviathan. And dueling dialogues and a rhetoric tournament begin.

Viewers will instantly recognize Alexander Sokolovsky in the role of Fandorin, since he starred a lot in TV series - from “Raskol” to “Molodezhka” and “Sklifosofsky”. In the role of the Parisian detective Gustave Gauche is the colorful actor Leonid Gromov with a Lenkom biography behind him. In Fandorin, he appetizingly develops the classic image of a middle-aged detective who bears little resemblance to representatives of his profession. His hero comes from the detective stories of Georges Simenon and Agatha Christie. An adventurer, and at first a sensitive young lady expecting the birth of a child, Renata Kleber was exultantly played by Anna Snatkina. In the role of the Japanese Gintaro Aono is a wonderful young artist Azamat Nigmanov, who has experience in different theaters- from “Romain” to “Electrotheater”.

The set design by Irina Zaitseva is deliberately naive and simple-minded. But everything is in the spirit of Akunin, and the audience finds its charm in a certain patriarchal nature of the performance, which differs from aggressive avant-garde performances.
