“Weighted People”: what bright project participants look like now. Weight loss of “Weighted People” on STS - before and after photos and the diet of the main characters Petr Vasiliev instagram Weighted People

Doctors explain the death of participants in a reality show about weight loss.

The 3rd season of the television project “Weighted People” (STS) has begun on Russian television. This is an analogue of the American project “The Biggest Loser”. In the story, overweight people lose weight under the supervision of doctors and other specialists. The participant who loses the most excess weight receives a prize of 3 million rubles.

The project was launched on our STS channel after it had already been successful in other countries. For example, in Ukraine there were as many as 6 seasons - the project is very popular and is called “Weighted and Happy.”

But recently an emergency happened. At the end of January 2017, a 44-year-old participant in “Weighted and Happy” died. The cause of death of the ex-participant of the television project is actively discussed on social networks. It turned out that this is the third death of the former heroes of the reality show “Weighted and Happy.” Despite the fact that they are allowed to compete after a thorough medical examination, and professionals monitor their exercise and diet, the question arose: did their weight loss in the TV project provoke the death of people?

Story No. 1
Evgenia Mostovenko (in the photo above she is before and after losing weight) came to the “Weighted and Happy” project in 2013. She was 40 years old at the time. The woman weighed 130 kg and was 170 cm tall. She gained a lot of weight after taking hormonal medications. After 5 weeks, she left the show, having lost 10 kg. At home, Mostovenko continued to lose weight - at the control weigh-in in the reality show, she weighed 94 kg. Total: 36 kg lost in 9 months.

The woman decided to participate in the project in order to give birth to a child for her husband, who was 8 years younger than her. The doctors said: for this you need to lose weight. Another incentive for Evgenia to come on television was the desire to help her daughter lose weight: in this season of the project they lost weight in pairs. Zhenya wanted to become an example and company for her Alexandra.
Mostovenko said that after losing weight, her health improved, her legs stopped hurting, and she was able to skate and ride her favorite bicycle.

— Mom is hypertensive. But the pressure only increased when she was nervous,” said Alexandra Mostovenko.
In January 2017, Evgenia’s blood pressure jumped at work, the woman lost consciousness, and a few days later Mostovenko died in intensive care. Diagnosis - cerebrovascular disease (develops against the background of hypertension, causes cerebrovascular accident); stroke.
Zhenya Mostovenko failed to give birth to a second child, but she and her husband collected documents for adoption...

Story No. 2

32-year-old Ilya Yakovlev also died of a stroke. He, like Evgenia Mostovenko, was a participant in the 3rd season of “Weighted and Happy.”
In 2013, the guy reached the finals of the television project: he entered the show weighing 147 kg, lost 48 kg, and began to weigh 99 kg. Ilya passed away in 2015.

Yakovlev came to the TV project with the hope of losing weight (he gained weight due to sedentary work and a sedentary lifestyle) and, thanks to this, meeting his soulmate.

All dreams came true: a guy from Donetsk lost weight and fell in love with participant Natasha on the project. A year later the couple got married.

It is worth noting that at the beginning Ilya Yakovlev was even considered lazy on Weighted and Happy. The reason is that he did not strive to lose weight quickly, he refused heavy loads, deciding to lose several kilograms per month. The man was afraid of harming his health.

Story No. 3

52-year-old Igor Pashinsky died of a heart attack. The man came into the 5th season of the television project with a weight of 193 kg (height is 176 cm) and lost 37 kg in 13 weeks. After participating in the show, he continued to lose weight at home - in a month and a half he lost another 14 kg.

Pashinsky decided to lose weight with the help of specialists on television, since he was unable to lose weight on his own. And due to health problems, including obesity, he was afraid of becoming disabled. The man worked in the police, took part in eliminating the consequences of the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and when he returned, he began to get sick often. Igor had type 2 diabetes.

After participating in “Weighted and Happy,” Pashinsky began to feel better. “He stopped being afraid of people and hiding from them,” said his wife Galina Pashinskaya. — The weight led to the fact that he practically did not work anywhere for two years. He was removed from the bank: what kind of guard is he who doesn’t get through the door.”

Pashinsky’s wife said that she had not seen her husband so happy for a long time. But a month and a half after returning from filming, Igor passed away - a massive heart attack, coronary heart disease. Galina Pashinskaya said that the doctors admitted to her: if her husband had not gone to the project and lost weight, he would not have lived this time.
They took care of Igor on the project: they exempted him from competitions and gave him light workloads.

Nikolai Voroshilov became the star of the first season of the show. The young man showed phenomenal results on the project. He came to the show with a serious problem: after troubles in his personal life, the guy began to eat stress and eat fast food. As a result, I gained almost a hundred kilograms of excess weight, which I wanted to lose, but could not get rid of.

On the program “Weighted and Happy,” Nikolai managed to lose 85 kilograms. Voroshilov became incredibly handsome, turning from an obese, insecure guy into a real sex symbol. However, the man did not manage to stay at a normal weight for long: he soon gained weight again and now, judging by his posts on Instagram, he is going to participate in the new season of the project.

Alik Zakrevsky (winner of the 2nd season)

“I’ve been chubby since childhood. In my first year at the institute I weighed 120 kilograms. But I gained the most last summer - 159. I tried to lose weight more than once. I went on a diet and worked physically. I remember once during construction I lost 30 kilograms. But later the weight returned. I lost 10-15 kilograms when I fell in love with someone. But to be honest, the girls didn’t pay much attention to me,” Alik said in an interview on the eve of the start of the project.

He managed to lose 86 kilograms. After filming was completed, friends and relatives could not believe that Zakrevsky now looked like a completely different person. Changes in appearance also led to changes in his personal life. In 2014, Alik married journalist Tatyana Korytnaya. Now they are raising their common daughter Polina.

Marina Vdovenko (winner of the 3rd season)

The Instagram profile of the winner of the third season of the show, Marina Vdovenko, now says that she is a consultant in aesthetic dietetics. Apparently, the knowledge acquired on the project has been useful to the girl in practice: now she helps people get rid of extra pounds.

She came to the program weighing 113 kilograms and lost half that weight during filming. Now the woman looks great. By the way, you can get some nutritional advice from her for free: Vdovenko often shares them on social networks.

Yulia Fomina (winner of the 4th season)

Julia ended up on the project due to serious family problems. The girl weighed 118 kilograms and lost 62 kilograms in 8 months. She did not give herself any concessions and persistently pursued her goal. After the project, the girl nevertheless divorced her husband, but soon found new love in the person of a classmate. The lovers got married and had a daughter.

Now Fomina is trying to keep herself in shape. She became a successful blogger and founded a nutrition delivery service.

Alexander Repyanchuk (winner of the 5th season)

Alexander took part in the project together with his wife Alla. However, he managed to surpass his wife’s results in the fight against excess weight. From a 148-kilogram big guy, he turned into a slender, fit guy. Alla also lost a lot of weight and was among the finalists.

Currently, the couple are happy together. In an interview after the show, they talked about their plans to open a fitness center and start making sausages. The main thing is that one does not interfere with the other.

Arkady Vasylishin (winner of the 6th season)

Arkady was the heaviest participant in all seasons of the project. His weight at the time of joining the show was 235 kilograms. During eight months of filming, he lost 132 kilograms and literally changed beyond recognition.

Now that problems with excess weight are a thing of the past, Vasylyshyn goes in for sports for his own pleasure. Yes, he has gained a little weight, but due to an increase in muscle mass - the man spends most of his time in the gym.

His personal life was also quite successful. Arkady is married and has a daughter.

Natalya Tokareva and Alexey Dobryansky (winners of the 7th season)

Alexey and Natalya came to “Weighted and Happy” as a married couple. Together they managed to lose 123 kilograms and win 400 thousand hryvnia. Even before the project, Tokareva was worried that her husband, who is 10 years younger, would leave her and go to some young and slender beauty. After the end of the project, the couple really broke up. It is unknown what caused the breakup.

“Today, Natalya and I have friendly relations. We support and respect each other. We do not put an end to our relationship. Please do not ask us personal questions to which we do not yet have answers. We will not answer any questions about our personal life,” Alexey wrote on his page last year.

The project greatly changed the lives of the couple. They both continue to watch their diet, go to the gym regularly and stay in shape.

The project for Irina began back in May 2017 with a letter from the casting director of the show, who invited the curvaceous beauty to apply for participation.

The selection was very difficult: we needed beautiful faces and interesting stories. In addition, the characters must be different in character and type of activity. They were interested in our aspirations and dreams, relationships within the family. First of all, this is a show, and the audience should be interested in watching the participants,” recalls Irina. At the beginning of the project, the girl’s weight was 148 kg. Now she weighs half a centner less.

Irina admitted that the most difficult part was the filming process:

This is a completely different mode, life schedule. All together it caused a lot of inconvenience. There was a feeling that you were not in control of your life. Someone else decides when you will eat, when you will workout. This applied to absolutely everything! We didn’t know what to prepare for, what awaited us tomorrow. For me personally, this was the most difficult thing throughout the entire project.

- What is it like to talk about your problems and complexes to the whole country?

I guessed that I would hear both criticism and approval addressed to me. There are those who like girls with curves, but there were also those who condemned me and said: “Lose weight! What are you doing to yourself!

We were cut off from the world, in a closed space, without the support of loved ones. Emotions went wild, we cried. But as a result, we found support from those around us: we became a small family.

- What was the most valuable thing you took away from there, not counting the lost kilograms?

I closed the story with the comments that rained down on me after winning the beauty contest. They broke me very much then, I closed myself off from the world, stopped trusting people. I won a victory over myself. Now I approach everything that happens in life more simply. People are sometimes angry, without thinking, they hurt. But you shouldn’t forbid yourself to feel and enjoy life because of this. Another plus is that I made real friends. I hope that we will continue to communicate for a long, long time.

Only one training session was shown on air, something unusual. This was filmed specifically for the show. In fact, the training was daily - from an hour to four. Sometimes we had to train at night, because there was no gym in the complex where we lived; we had to go there. Everything depended on the filming process. The menu was developed by an excellent nutritionist Yulia Olegovna. The number of calories is minimal. Four meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner and one snack. We didn’t take diet pills, but we did take vitamins.

- It’s hard to believe that a person can consistently lose 3-4 kg of weight over several months.

This is real on the project. You need to understand that there we had only one task - to lose weight, there was simply no other thing to do. You shouldn't do this at home. It is difficult both physically and mentally, and the body malfunctions. And in my head there are only thoughts about kilograms.

- Many viewers expressed the opinion that the voting, and, consequently, the elimination of participants, was staged and written in advance. Is it so?

No, we voted ourselves. There were many factors involved, each time it was difficult because we came to the project with problems. Everyone understood that each of us still needed to lose weight, have something to strive for, something to learn, something to experience. But we were placed in such conditions that everyone could not stay, and every week someone had to leave. Everyone has their own voting motives, but it’s absolutely clear that there was no script.

- How has your life changed after the project?

Now I want to move more, I like it. Previously, I had shortness of breath after going up to the second floor. Recently in Moscow I walked 20 kilometers in a day, and only calluses on my feet forced me to stop. Sweating has decreased: it’s no secret that overweight people sweat a lot. In addition, there are big problems with choosing clothes. I had to dress in some old woman’s clothes, which made me look older. I was called “woman”, but now they started calling me “girl” again. It's much nicer, especially when you're only 23 years old.

The girl came to the project weighing 148 kg, lost 33 kg in two and a half months, and approached the finale, which was filmed a little later, weighing 99 kg.

The presenter Anfisa Chekhova, rapper Seryoga, actor and award-winning athlete Sergei Badyuk and Miss Olympia, Russian, European and world champion in fitness bikini Natalya Lugovskikh, helped the “weighted people” get rid of extra kilos. The finale of the show took place on June 2.

“Weighted People,” a successful project of the STS TV channel, is an analogue of the popular American show in which people change their lifestyle, work on their body and transform themselves. In addition to a new body, the winner of the project will receive a decent amount of money and audience sympathy.

Both men and women, young and old, take part in this show, and each participant hides complexes, a difficult fate and a desire to radically change their lives.

The winner will be the person who loses the most kilos, and the project organizers will do their best to tempt people with delicious food and entertainment. Only a strong-willed person who can resist temptations and cope with his laziness will win this show.

The main rules for effective weight loss show Weighted People

With the start of season 3, the rules of the project changed a little, as well as the principles of losing weight:

  1. We made an age limit. Now people from 18 to 50 years old can become participants.
  2. The project involves like-minded people who have a family connection: parents and children, brothers and sister.
  3. Weight restrictions have arisen. Women can take part in the project if they weigh more than 100 kilograms, and men from 120 kilograms.

The basic rules of the show that all participants must follow are as follows:

  • Consume only healthy natural products.
  • Refusal of baked goods and sweets in any form.
  • Intense workouts.

Note! These unique competitions take place under the watchful eye of nutritionists, critics and fitness instructors. They help the show participants and give advice.

The show's experts not only help fight excess weight, but also talk about the main causes of obesity and the consequences of this disease:

  1. You should try to avoid stressful situations. There must be a psychological attitude.
  2. Don't pay attention to myths and stereotypes. Not eating after 6 is a misconception. You can eat, but only light food. If you don’t eat for a long time, the body gets stressed and requires a double dose after microfasting.
  3. It is necessary to control your weight.
  4. Buy and eat only natural products and prepare food at home. Limit visits to public food outlets.
  5. Never fry food: cook it either in the oven, boil it, or steam it.
  6. Training should not be done carelessly, but strictly according to the method suggested by the trainer.
  7. There must be an attitude, positivity and a daily boost of energy.
  8. Movement is life. Move more.
  9. Do daily check-weighings and monitor your overall health.
  10. It is not necessary to radically change your diet; it is enough to reduce portions and add vegetables and fruits to your diet.

Permitted and prohibited products

Each meal should not exceed 500 calories in calorie content, so the products should be all of natural origin with a low calorie index.

Heroes of the reality show “Weighted People”

The show participants were of different weight categories and ages.

  • Shiktko Alexander.

Let's discuss the most striking characters in the project and find out how they achieved such stunning results.

A stylist from St. Petersburg lost 50 kg during the entire time she spent on the project. She assures that without the help of professionals she would not have been able to achieve such an impressive result.

At the first stage, Vesta completely eliminated sugar, mayonnaise and fast food from her diet. The first week I consumed 2500 kcal per day and gradually reduced the amount of food. Proper nutrition normalized metabolism, and training toned up my figure.

The secret to her weight loss is not complicated:

  1. Compliance with diet.
  2. Daily physical activity.
  3. Daily weighing controls and measurement of problem areas.

Advice! Success will come only when a person burns more calories than he consumes.

This “Weighted” participant played sports in his youth, but when he quit, the weight began to grow rapidly. He not only had problems with his health, but also with his personal life.

Peter dropped 40 kilograms of excess weight and admits that it was not easy for him. The relationship with Vesta did not work out, apparently this was fate.

Immediately after the project, Peter met a beautiful girl and now they are happy. His chosen one is expecting a child. Peter assures that he managed to lose weight not through proper nutrition and intense exercise, but because he fell in love with Vesta Romanova.

Maxim won 2.5 million rubles and lost a record amount of kilograms. The final weigh-in showed minus 63 kilograms from the moment he came to the project.

Maxim assures that people find excuses for not playing sports. Lack of a gym or the opportunity to visit one, serious busyness. You can also play sports at home.

If a person allocates 1 hour of time a day for training, then it is easy to correct figure imperfections.

Lead an active lifestyle and spend less time in restaurants and at the computer.

Photos of Maxim before and after the project

This show participant weighed more than 220 kilograms. He spent 7 weeks on the project, but did not give up improving his figure after leaving. Alexander, this is exactly the most difficult case when a person is overweight since childhood.

He says that he rapidly gained weight from an early age and did not know how to deal with it. Moreover, tragedies in life only made the situation worse. For example, the death of my mother in 2011.

He started working on his figure even before the project and for some time he managed to lose 30 kilos when he weighed 250 kg. During his time on the project, he managed to lose another 38 kg. He is already on his own, because the elderly grandmother needed his help.

Advice! Cyclical training is the most important thing. They must be permanent and long-lasting. At least 40 minutes a day in one approach.

This show affected each participant differently, but everyone unanimously assures that the regime and the presence of experienced nutritionists and trainers on the site had a serious auxiliary effect.

The most important thing is not to quit training, even after the result is achieved. Weight can quickly return if you do not watch your lifestyle and are lazy.

Mitya, let's start from the very beginning. Tell us how you got involved in the project?

- It happened completely unexpectedly. I accidentally came across information about the casting on the Internet and decided, I wasn’t there, I’ll try! I really wanted to change my life, to lose the excess weight that I had gained after a serious spinal injury. As it turned out later, at the time of submitting the application, the casting had long ended, but despite this, I was invited to Moscow, I passed the selection and became a participant in the “Weighted People” show.

By what parameters, besides being overweight, were future “Weighted People” selected?

There were a lot of criteria, oh During the selection, they paid special attention to health; they were interested in whether the applicants had a sports background, because the participants were expected to undergo difficult physical activity during the project. By almost all indicators, my health was normal, the only thing was that I had a problem with my ankle due to my heavy weight, but I was “repaired” during the project. Another advantage was that in my youth I practiced judo. In addition to these parameters, I think certain character qualities were also important, for example, sociability, as well as the ability to behave in front of a camera, in public. Many of the participants had this experience. Someone acted on television, another worked as a presenter at corporate events, I am a former KVN member.

At first, how difficult was it to get into the groove of the project?

Before the injury, I led an active lifestyle and never weighed more than one hundred kilograms, so it was not difficult for me to get involved in working on myself. I'm a fairly resilient person. During the project, in addition to morning exercises, gym classes, and individual evening training, I often played sports at night: I worked out or played tennis with one of the participants.

— On television broadcasts of the show, the emphasis is on training, while the diet of the participants remains behind the scenes. Tell us how the food for the project was built?

— In fact, great attention was paid to proper nutrition; nutritionist Yulia Bastrygina worked closely with us. It was she who compiled the menu, adjusted it depending on physical activity, and talked about healthy food. We always had calorie tables at hand. When the project chef had a day off, according to the tables and menus, we independently prepared dishes for five meals. At the beginning of the project, we consumed about 1200 kilocalories every day. Despite the fact that after a couple of weeks the norm was reduced to 500-800 calories, this was quite enough - we never left hungry.

How did you prepare for the control weigh-in?

— Before the control weigh-in at the end of each week, we had a last chance training, where we tried to give our best. Basically, here we received cardio exercise, which effectively melts fat. On the eve of the weigh-in, a visit to the sauna became a mandatory item in our schedule to get rid of excess fluid in the body. Before going to bed and at night, we tried not to drink water. In the morning we go to weigh-in, everyone’s tongue sticks to the roof of their mouth, but we endure (smiles), because we had to show a good result on the scales.

— The project trainers also worked on the participant’s results. On the show you had the opportunity to work under the leadership of Irina Turchinskaya and in the team of Denis Semenikhin. Which coach did you feel more comfortable working with?

— I am the kind of person that I feel comfortable with almost everyone (smiles). Each of our trainers is a great professional. I was very lucky: I had the opportunity to study under the guidance of both masters. Each coach helped me a lot, despite their different approaches to training. Irina and I worked out more in the gym, on exercise machines or with dumbbells. Denis often organized outdoor training, we pulled tires, moved carts with tires, and worked with sledgehammers. Getting used to the new coach and other loads was not easy at first, but soon everything went like clockwork.

— In recent weeks, team wrestling has been replaced by individual competition. Personally, was it easier for you to work in a team or for your own results?

Dividing into teams or working for yourself - this was not important for me. Physically and psychologically, I didn’t feel any difference. After the rules changed, we also all lived under one roof, cooked together, and communicated. It’s been a tough time during the voting. When you see that it is vital for all participants to be on a project under the supervision of experienced trainers and doctors, when you understand that the fate of another person depends on you, it is incredibly difficult to make a choice. Every time it was really hard for me to write the name of one of the participants.

In recent weeks, you also had to leave the project. Wasn't it a shame to leave one step away from the final?

Of course, it was a shame to leave the show, but these are the rules of the project. Getting into the top five is already an achievement, especially since at that time I showed the best result among the “Weighted People”: I lost almost 54 kilograms from my initial weight of 219. In other countries where a similar show was held, participants with greater weight, like mine , left the project much earlier. Only in Sweden was there a precedent when a heavyweight hero stepped beyond the equator.

After the project, did you continue to lose weight?

Yes, after the finale of the show I managed to lose another 21 kilograms. Now my weight is at 138. I am gradually striving for my ideal figure - 97 kilograms. I kept this weight for quite a long time, from my student days, and felt very comfortable in it. Before winter I plan to lose weight to 120, next year, if possible, I will reach the cherished 97. If my weight is a little more, I will not be upset, the main thing is that I can now move normally and lead an active lifestyle.

Tell us in more detail, what place does physical activity occupy in your life now?

I really miss physical activity, so I try to take advantage of every opportunity. If I’m on a minibus, I get off after a couple of stops and walk to the place I need. I also completely abandoned the elevator. Despite the fact that I live on the third floor, several times a day I go up to the tenth floor and go back down. Unfortunately, my schedule does not include gym classes - time does not allow, there is a lot of work. I have my own business - a yarn store. But early in the morning I still take long walks over rough terrain, I try to walk at least five kilometers. Not far from the house, in a forest belt, I make a stop, there I have a small improvised sports ground, where I even have a tire, like Denis Semenikhin, although there is no sledgehammer - they’ll knock it off (smiles). Whenever possible, I conduct classes at home: I deadlift a 16-kilogram weight, doing several approaches in the morning and evening. On weekends I try to go out of town: a week ago my wife and I were in the forest, we probably covered 15 kilometers.

How has your diet changed?

My family and I try to follow the basics of healthy eating. Thanks to this, my wife lost 10 kilograms, my son - eight. We cook meat dishes and fish in the oven or steamed; we have almost completely abandoned sunflower oil. If previously a bottle of oil would last for a week, now it can last two months and still be half full. I haven’t eaten lard or bought mayonnaise or sugar for over a year now. The last time chocolate was on our table was on New Year's Day, and then I only ate one piece of candy. Now my family’s diet consists of exclusively healthy food: oatmeal three times a week in the morning, lots of fruits and vegetables, we especially love zucchini: we bake them in slices and add them to various dishes. By the way, after a culinary competition on a project where I prepared a soufflé of zucchini with turkey, I received a flood of messages on social networks asking me to send the recipe for the dish (smiles).

Do you keep in touch with the participants after the project?

We continue to communicate with many of the participants; even after the project we managed to maintain warm, friendly relations.

What mark did the “Weighted People” project leave on your life?

— Thanks to the project, I got a lot of impressions, it felt like I was in another world. I met wonderful people: the participants, the film crew, doctors and trainers. I saw television from the inside, now I can imagine how the filming process goes, how difficult and at the same time interesting it is. Finally, thanks to the project, I can afford what I had only dreamed of before: I move freely, visit a water park, go to the forest. Now hundreds of people come to my personal page on social networks, write wishes, ask for an autograph, they began to recognize me on the streets. But I’m an ordinary person who just really really wanted to change my life. Anyone can be in my place, the main thing is a great desire and faith in yourself!
