Waistcoats and waistcoats for obese women, choose the ideal and fashionable models. Types of vests in a woman's wardrobe Patterns of sleeveless vests for overweight women

Vests have never been a mandatory part of a woman's wardrobe. They belong to decorative items that are actively used to create interesting and stylish images. There are a huge number of variations of women's vest models: classic, sports, country style, denim, bolero vests, elongated vests, dress vests. Let's look at how a women's vest pattern is constructed. Below we offer several master classes on sewing models.

We use a sleeveless straight dress as a base. Such a pattern for your size can be found on the Internet and downloaded for free.

We measure 10 cm down from the waist and draw a bottom line. We move the side seam by 5 - 15 mm to expand the shelves.

Along the back we expand the rollout by 1 cm and deepen it by 5 mm. We draw a new roll-out line.

Along the front we also expand the rollout by 1 cm. From the chest line we measure upward 2 cm. Through the obtained points we draw a concave pattern line of the side and extend it beyond the center of the shelf by 1.5 cm. We draw a figured line of the bottom - see the dimensions in the drawing.

Along the shoulder line, measure the length of the shoulder 7.5 cm and draw a new armhole line.

This line can be drawn either perpendicular to the shoulder line or at an angle.

We draw relief lines through the dart at the waist.

Draw a horizontal line through the point where the armhole bend changes.

We extend the dart to this line.

We cut the pattern along the relief line and perpendicular to it to the bottom point of the dart.

Closing the shoulder dart.

When sewing along the relief line, you will need to iron the fabric to equalize the length.

Let's start modeling the front shelf.

Approximately in the center of the dart we find a point and from it we draw a straight line to the beginning of the dart. To ensure a good fit of the neck, you need to cut the pattern along the drawn line and apply 7 mm.

We close the dart. Brown lines show the original version of the pattern, black lines show after closing the dart.

Let's retake the pattern.

Align the relief line.

Mark the pocket line on the shelf.

If desired, you can cut off a corner of the shelf, leaving 4 cm on top and 1.5 cm along the bottom line.

To design the hem line, measure 3 cm along the shoulder line, 5 cm along the center front line.

We draw a conjugate pattern line.

Below we offer ready-made patterns of vests of different sizes for a height of 168 cm.

Classic women's vest with collar

A vest using this pattern can be sewn not only in a strict business style. If you use elegant fabric, decorate with beads or embroidery, we will get a very interesting version of the vest.

For size 48, with OG = 96 cm, OT = 76 cm and OB = 104 cm, the pattern is shown below.

For sizes 50 and 52, patterns are given on the same drawing, marked with different lines. For size 50 OG = 100 cm, OT = 78 cm, OB = 106 cm. For size 52 OG = 104 cm, OT = 82 cm, OB = 110 cm.

The patterns do not include seam allowances. As you can see from the picture, each square has a side equal to 10 cm. You need to set the appropriate scale and print each sheet.

In addition, you need to cut out pocket facings 18x2.5 cm (4 pcs.), pocket valances 18x5 cm (2 pcs.)

Master class on sewing a lined vest

To make a women's vest, a pattern modeled according to the previous description is used. You can make it yourself according to your own parameters, using a straight dress as a basis, or use ready-made patterns.

We cut out all the details, lay them out on the fabric, secure them with pins and trace them.

If there is a pattern on the fabric, for example, a vertical stripe, then the layout of the patterns should be done by selecting the pattern.

We cut out all the parts with an allowance of 1.2 cm.

All parts are treated with glue.

Using a basting stitch, we connect the cut-off side of the front and the shelf.

Using a basting stitch, we connect the barrels of the back with the middle part of the back, and baste the yoke. Sew the sides together using a basting stitch.

All seams are machine stitched. We remove the basting.

We trim the allowances and cut off excess fabric.

Iron all seams on both sides.

Then iron the seams.

The reverse side of the product is shown in the following photo.

We cut out the lining, lining and neck facing.

We cut off the facing with the back, folding it right sides together. Let's collaborate.

Turn it inside out, baste it clean, iron it and sew it to the edge by 0.1 cm.

We apply the edging to the front side of the shelf with the front side and chop it off.

We cut out the fitting pattern, duplicating the lower edge contour.

We sew together the border and the shelf, running a stitch along the edge of the pattern. We will need it to repeat such a seam on the second selection.

At the bottom of the hem we leave 15 mm of free space. We will need it to grab the lining.

The vest is made from the main fabric and is practically sewn together.

We machine stitch all the lining parts and press the seams. At the same time, we leave a free area on the side seam. Iron the fold on the back for free movement.

Pin the lining to the hems and facing of the neckline on the right side. Then we sew the lining on the inside using a machine stitch.

We do the same with the bottom edge of the lining.

We turn the sleeveless jacket inside out and cut off the armholes. We stitch and turn the product through the shoulder tunnels.

Through the hole left in the side seam we take out the shoulder sections and stitch them together.

We sew up the free area. We perform WTO on the collars, armholes, neckline, and shoulder seams. The vest is ready!

Long vest

Made from drape or thick suiting fabric, the elongated vest is suitable for any type of female figure. With a shawl or stand-up collar, without a collar, such a vest always looks elegant. The pattern of an elongated vest is constructed using the same algorithm as for short models.

We invite you to carefully consider the patterns of an elongated vest and sew yourself a new thing.

Long vest

The long vest has firmly established itself in our lives. These fashionable clothes most often have a loose fit, allowing you to hide problem areas of the figure. Resembling a sleeveless dress or coat, depending on the material chosen for tailoring, such vests can be with or without a collar, fastened with buttons or with a wrap.

To model a long vest, use a basic straight dress.

Wrap vest pattern

An interesting model, decorated with wide stitching and pockets with flaps, accentuated at the waist by a wide belt.

The vest is sewn from thin suit and dress fabrics. It is recommended to make the lining from natural viscose.

The basis of modeling is the dress.

Front part

We close the chest dart by making a cut as indicated in the drawing. We transfer the dart to the waist - see drawing. We draw a pattern line for the relief and cut along these lines.

Raise the shoulder line by 1.5 cm. Draw a new outline of the shoulder. We set aside the required values from the center of the front to draw the side and lapel. Along the side seam from the waist we put 22 cm down and draw a dotted horizontal line. We measure 8 cm from it, 4 cm from the center to the left, connect all the points with a pattern line of the side.

In addition, we draw the hem, the border of the fold of the lapel and the facing of the front armhole (width 4 cm).

We mark the line of the pocket in the frame, draw a flap according to the pattern (6 cm wide), rounding one corner.

Back

Extend the shoulder up by 1.5 cm, rounding the line. In the center of the front, from the roll-out, measure up 1.5 cm. Draw a concave line (= one-piece stand-up collar).

Draw a raised seam along the lines of the waist dart. Measuring 22 cm down from the waist, draw a line for the bottom edge of the product.

In addition, we remove the piping of the back neckline and the piping of the back armhole (4 cm wide).

Cutting details from the main fabric:

  • the middle part of the shelf – 2 children;
  • side part of the shelf – 2 parts;
  • middle part of the back – 2 parts;
  • side part of the back – 2 parts;
  • selection – 2 children;
  • pocket valve – 4 parts;
  • back neck facing – 1 piece. with fold;
  • facing of the back armhole – 2 parts;
  • facing of the front armhole - 2 parts;
  • belt – length 90 cm, width 10 cm (finished 5 cm);
  • pocket facings – length 14 cm, width 3 cm – 4 parts;
  • blanks for belt loops – length 8 cm, width 3 cm – 4 pieces.

Cutting details from the lining:

  • front halves (without hemming and armhole facings) – 2 pieces;
  • back (without facing the neckline and armholes) – 1 piece. with a fold.

Don’t forget to allow for seam allowances of 1.5 cm and for the lower edge of the back – 4 cm.

You also need to cut out a burlap pocket 10 cm long and 15 cm wide - 4 pieces.

Sewing a vest - a simple technology for beginners

We duplicate the lining of the shelf, facing of the back rollout, armholes, external flaps of pockets, facings for processing pockets into a frame, hem, belt.

We sew raised seams on the front parts. Iron the seam allowances. We make the pockets into a frame with two facings and flaps.

Sew the central seam of the back and press the seam allowances. Baste and stitch the side seams, leaving the shoulder seams open.

Having previously basted, sew the relief seams on the lining. We sew on the armhole facings from the main material. We sew the hem and the back facing to the lining. We sweep and grind the side sections, leaving an open area (length 15 cm) for turning. Leave the seams on the shoulders of the lining open. We fold the lining and the vest from the main fabric with the right sides facing each other, we process the armholes, neck and sides with one-piece facings.

We turn the vest through the bottom to the wrong side. We baste and stitch the lining to the bottom edge. We turn the product inside out, iron it, sew along the sides and bottom edge, retreating 4 cm. Sew up the section of the seam left open with hidden stitches.

We adjust the belt loops along the waist, make a belt, sew it off, sew on a buckle, and punch out the blocks. The vest is ready!

Pattern of an original backless vest

The pattern of a women's vest with an open back is simple to construct. We carry out modeling based on the front part of the dress.

We draw modeling lines as shown in the figures.

Having closed the dart on the chest, we transfer it to the waist. We design the bottom of the vest as you wish - curly or straight. We remove from the back pattern a piece similar to the facing of the back rollout, and glue it to the shoulder seam.

Patchwork vest

You can sew an original patchwork vest from pieces of leather and fabric.

Size: 44-46.

To make a patchwork vest we need:

  • fabric with floral print, 100% linen, width 1.4 m – 0.5 m;
  • pieces of fabric of different colors;
  • pieces of leather;
  • decorative tape for red finishing – 0.5 m;
  • decorative tape for black finishing – 2.6 m;
  • jewelry stones for decoration;
  • “gold-look” buttons – 10 pcs.;
  • fabric for lining, width 1.4 m - 0.5 m.

How to sew a patchwork vest

We begin work by making a life-size pattern.

Each square in the figure should have a side of 5 cm.

Next, we sew two fabrics for the front shelves, combining scraps of fabric and pieces of leather. It is important that the front halves of the patchwork vest are symmetrical. We cut out the shelves and add decorative tape.

We cut out the back parts from linen fabric.

We sew the central seam on the back and sew the side seams of the vest.

We cut out the lining using the same patterns, grind down the parts, and finish the seams.

Place the patchwork vest and lining with right sides facing each other and pin them together. We machine stitch along the neckline, sides, armholes and bottom edges.

We turn the product inside out through the shoulder areas left free.

We sweep the edges of all seams and iron them.

We sew the seams on the shoulders of the patchwork vest. On the lining, we fold the shoulder sections and hem them manually with a blind seam.

We sew the vest along the contour to the edge.

On the front side of the product we sew a finishing tape along the contour.

Finally, we sew on jewelry and buttons.

School vest for girls

Your child will always be warm in such a vest. For manufacturing, it is recommended to use material with a fairly high wool content.

Size: 32.

Using the proposed step-by-step instructions, you can model a vest for any size.

To make a pattern you need to take measurements (the numbers are approximate):

  • back length to waist (DST) = 28 cm;
  • back length to hips (DSB) = 38 cm;
  • shoulder length (HL) = 10 cm;
  • semi-circumference of the neck (POSH) = 14 cm;
  • half chest circumference (POG) = 32 cm;
  • half waist circumference (SW) = 30 cm;
  • armhole depth (GPr) = 16.5 cm.

Building a basic pattern

In the upper left corner of the format we put a point (∙) A. From it we put the DSB down, and to the right we measure the DSB plus 3 cm for a loose fit. Mark (∙) A1.

From (∙) A we lay down the DST and draw a straight line horizontally.

From (∙) A we set aside the GPr and draw a horizontal line for the armhole. We find the middle of the segment AA1, draw a perpendicular down, put (∙) Г2.

To calculate the width of the armhole, we use the formula 1⁄4 LOG + 1 cm = 9 cm. From (∙) G2 in both directions we set aside 4.5 cm, put (∙) G and (∙) G1.

From them we draw perpendicular lines upward until they intersect with segment AA1. We put (∙) P and (∙) P1.

To build the rollout, we measure from (∙) A to the right 5.2 cm. This value is determined by the formula 1⁄2 NOS + 0.5 cm = 5.2 cm.

Set aside 1.5 cm at the top (constant value for all sizes). We draw a pattern line for the backrest rollout.

Through (∙), located at a distance of 1.5 cm, down the perpendicular we draw the shoulder line along the measurement.

To construct the armhole line for the back, we divide the PG into three equal segments and draw the armhole profile, as shown in the figure.

Move the top (∙) A1 2 cm up. From the received (∙) we measure to the left and down 5.2 cm (= 1/3 NOS + 5 mm = 5.2 cm). We draw the rollout of the front.

To build the front shoulder line, move (∙) P1 down 1 cm. Through this (∙) we draw the shoulder line according to the measurements.

To construct the front armhole, find the center of the segment P1G1 and draw a pattern line for the armhole, as shown in the figure.

To build the lines of the side seams, set aside 1.5 cm on both sides and draw the seam lines.

Important Note

Check the OT according to the pattern and measurement. On the pattern, the OT should be 1 - 2 cm larger.

With a dress

Would you like us to tell you a secret? How to create many looks with a small amount of clothing? You need to choose wardrobe items that combine well with each other. The vest is what you need! One thing many images.

It just so happens that today the sizes of either skinny teenage girls or simply very petite women are recognized as fashionable. And what should those whose sizes are slightly (well, just a little bit) larger than the generally accepted (by whom anyway, recognized standards of female beauty) do? Hide and hide on the dark sides of the streets? No, no, and no again!
In addition, it is often difficult to find plus size clothes on sale, and even stylish and fashionable ones. Overweight women are forced to either buy what is offered to them, or.. This is the “or” we’ll talk about today!
The ideal option for those women who, for various reasons, cannot find ideal clothing that fits their figure, including overweight women, is to sew their own clothes. Well, or, as a last resort, order tailoring from a studio. True, in this case you will have to very accurately describe all your desires and stand quietly while your measurements are taken. The rest is the concern of the studio, for which they take their money.
Let's say the decision is made - I'll sew it myself! Let's say you already have the skills to sew yourself. What then is required to sew, say, an evening dress? A cute pattern, of course!
The right dress model for plus size people will hide and distract attention from figure flaws, and at the same time will also be stylish.

A dress pattern for plus size people is the basis for constructing many cute dresses.
Before creating a pattern for the evening dress itself, it is necessary to create a basic pattern, a basic model according to the measurements taken, and only then move on to modeling more complex ones.
The diagram below shows the basic pattern of a dress for plus size people. We study, take measurements and build!

Based on this pattern, patterns for a whole range of different women's clothing are made. Sundresses, dressing gowns, blouses, jackets, vests... This list can be continued for a long time!

Depending on the degree of fit, dresses can be: tight-fitting, semi-tight-fitting, loose.
Here is a table of increases by degree of fit:

When constructing a drawing of a semi-fitting dress along the chest line, it is recommended to distribute the increase among the areas: back, front and armholes in the following percentage ratio: for the width of the back 25-30%, for the width of the armhole 55-60%, for the width of the front 10-15%.
For a fitted dress, the percentage changes: with a decrease in the overall increase, the increase to the armhole is increased by 10-15%.
For free, with an increase in the total increase, the increase to the armhole is reduced by 10-15%.
As the depth of the armhole increases, the percentage of increase in the width of the armhole is reduced, and, with a low-lying armhole (at the waist), the total increase is distributed only between the back and front.
In order for your pattern to be error-free, make a preliminary calculation of the distribution of the half-chest measurement across sections, based on the degree of fit that you have chosen (the amount of increase along the chest line and its ratio between the sections of the back, front, armhole).

To construct a drawing on a grid, you need to take the following measurements (you can learn more about taking measurements from the article “Cutting and sewing. Taking measurements.”):
POsh (half neck circumference), POg1 (half chest circumference 1), POg2 (half chest circumference 2), POt (half waist circumference), POb (half hip circumference), Dpl (shoulder length), Dr (sleeve length), Or (arm circumference), PShs (half the back width), PShp (half the shoulder width), Dst (back length to waist), Gpr (armhole depth), Db (side length), Vps (back shoulder height), PShg1 (half the chest width 1), PShb (half the width of the bust), Cb (center of the bust), Vg (chest height), Dpt (front length to waist), Dsp (middle front length), Vpp (front shoulder height), Du (skirt length).
Take these measurements accurately and write them down.
Increases for loose fit, based on semi-fit:
Pg = 4 cm, Pshs = 1 cm, Pshpr = 2.5 cm, Pshp = 0.5 cm, Pt = 4 cm, Pb = 2 cm, Por = 5 cm, Pdst = 0.5 cm, Pgpr = 2- 3 cm.

And as a bonus, 2 more patterns for festive dresses.

The first model of an evening dress for plus size women has a bodice silhouette that eliminates unnecessary folds and gives the figure the desired shape, and has lace inserts that also mask problem areas. And here is the pattern of this dress:

Cocktail dress pattern.

In addition, the skirt part of this dress is made with very, very lush folds, which will also distract attention. And designer jewelry will help you look especially amazing! Choose, sew and be beautiful, sexy and unique!!!

Often in a woman's wardrobe there are things that do not serve any practical function. So, for example, you can do without vests, but the image complemented by this detail will look brighter and more interesting.

In this article you will find a fashionable photo selection of fabric vests. Relevant for 2020.

Bright trends of the season

In 2020, stylists and fashion designers unanimously claim that the main trend of the season is a non-standard approach to fashion. The main thing that every fashionista should strive for in the fashion season is creating a bright and unusual image. A bow can be considered ideal only if it is completely unique and harmonious.

Unusual combinations of fabrics, styles and colors are trending. Women's fabric vests, which in themselves complement the image, do not bypass these rules. But now it is also a bright accent, without which no wardrobe can do.

The best materials for vests this year are:

  • Velvet
  • Suede
  • Jeans

They can be combined with each other, or can be supplemented with other, simpler materials, for example, cotton or linen.

As decoration for vests, fashion designers use long fringe, riveting, embroidery and embossing.

Denim

Denim has a special position in the new year. Things made from this material have a special place in a woman's wardrobe. Denim vests look very stylish and original, and allow you to complement any urban style look.

The main trend of the season is long denim vests. They pair perfectly with warm black jumpers and shorts. If necessary, frivolous shorts can be replaced with skinny jeans or trousers for a more formal look.

The designers did not ignore young fashionistas, offering them original models of denim sleeveless vests with bright prints and stripes. Also, don’t give up on your old denim jackets; by cutting off the sleeves, you can give them a second life.

Such homemade vests look very unusual and stylish, helping teenagers create unique, trendy looks.

Suede

For business ladies, suede vests are an ideal option. Thanks to their laconic style without unnecessary decoration and a fitted cut, sleeveless vests fit perfectly into a formal office look.

For natural suede, calm shades of brown, beige and black are popular. But the main trends of the year invite the fair sex to take a closer look at more saturated colors of green, burgundy, blue and purple.

Fashionable long vests

Long vests are a very stylish and unusual detail of a woman's wardrobe. One of the main advantages of such models is their elongated cut. Which visually slims the figure and elongates the silhouette, which becomes an ideal option for overweight women.

A girdle or belt matched to the tone of the vest will help emphasize the beauty of your figure. And the turn-down collar, present on some models, gives the sleeveless jacket a strict look, which becomes an ideal option for a business look.

The long vest model looks good with plain turtlenecks, as well as short dresses. The main condition that should be observed when creating a fashionable look is the harmonious combination of the vest with other wardrobe items.

Short women's vests

Short vests are the perfect complement to a cajoal look; as a rule, they are made of denim, but there are also models made of leather.

Denim vests help create a light look, which is especially relevant for young beauties. But leather or suede models will add brutality and character to the image. Such models can be complemented with rivets and spikes, and also have a zipper, which brings the style of the vest closer to a biker helmet.

Insulated padded vests

With the onset of autumn, stylists recommend not to rush into wearing jackets. They can be perfectly replaced by warm vests. This option will be ideal for girls who prefer a sporty clothing style. Vests can be complemented with hoods with fur trim or voluminous pockets.

Warm puffy vests go very well with jeans. And in order to keep your hands from freezing, a sleeveless vest can be combined with warm woolen sweaters or flannel jackets. For girls who like to experiment with their image and style, stylists recommend choosing a semi-sports dress that will also look good with a vest.
