The program of the Faculty of Scenography "artist-stage technologist" is aimed at training specialists in the field of theatrical stage design, which combines all the achievements of modern theater technology. In today's world of theatre, cinema, television and show business, members of this profession correspond to the position of "art director" or "technical director". In addition to studying the history and technology of scenography, fine arts, theater, literature and other humanitarian disciplines, students master organizational and managerial skills in the areas of economics and organization of theatrical business, the basics of modern management and theater production management, actively using their skills in practice during the implementation of educational design projects for entire performances.

In addition, the student is given the opportunity to personally get acquainted with the production process of a performance in the theater and take an active part in this process during the training practice that future "technologists" undergo in leading drama and musical theaters in Moscow, as assistants to the chief artist in the preparation department performances, or assistants to the head of the artistic and staging part of the theater.

The term of study in the direction of "Technology of artistic design of the performance" is 4 years (bachelor's degree) or 2 years (master's degree).
