Each PowerPoint presentation is a series of slides. To start creating a presentation, you need to know the basics of working with slides. You will need to do things like add a new slide, change the slide layout, change the order of the slides, and add notes and comments to the slide.

About the slides

They may also have miniature icons representing certain commands, such as Picture, Add Chart, Insert Video. In PowerPoint, just hover your mouse over these icons to see what type of content you can add to the placeholder.

Slide Layouts

The fillers are located on different layouts, which can be applied to existing slides or selected during creation new slide. The slide layout positions the content using various types placeholders, depending on what type of information you want to include in your presentation.

In the example above, the slide layout is called Title and object. It contains a header and placeholders. Each layout has a descriptive title and a thumbnail showing the location of the placeholders.

  • On the tab Insert, click on the command Inscription.
  • The mouse cursor will change to a cross.
  • Press and hold down and drag the cursor until you draw a text field.

Select Blank slide in the Layout command menu.

    To insert a new slide:

  • On the tab home click on the bottom of the command Create slide to open the menu.
