Hello! Today we will tell you how to draw a member of one of the most famous families on the planet - the Fantastic Four. As you have already seen in the preview picture, we will draw the Creature, or Ben Grimm, an incredibly charming and cute superhero.

Benjamin Grimm, a friend of Reed Richards from college, quickly realized that science was not for him, and, somehow graduating educational institution, went into the army, where he proved himself to be a good pilot. It was the skills of a pilot that allowed Ben to be one of those who were selected for a space expedition, during which Sue, Johnny and Ben himself were exposed to cosmic radiation and became the Fantastic Four.

Let's start this tutorial and learn how to draw the Thing from Fantastic Four!

Step 1

Let's start with the stickman. Ben Grimm - a common person, but only until he turns into a huge creature covered with a dense and durable orange shell. At the stickman stage, the ratio of the lengths of the head and the whole body will not be at all like in - here the height of our hero fits 4-4.5 heads in length.

Now the head seems disproportionately large, but once we create a powerful silhouette, it will no longer appear that way.

By the way, a powerful silhouette will be formed by a wide line of shoulders - at least 3 heads wide (note, it is sloping) and a narrow line of the pelvis; if it were wide, the figure would be overweight, not powerful.

Step 2

Now different areas of the stickman are simple geometric shapes. We designate hands in wide circles and rectangles, there should be no smooth bends here. We outline the body with a wide rectangle with smoothed corners - by the way, note that the upper part of the body overlaps the lower part of the head.

We denote the groin area with a triangle, the thighs with cylinders that taper towards the knee (again, the narrowing should not be smooth), then we denote short shins and rectangular feet.

In the same step we will mark the face with a pair perpendicular lines- the vertical one will indicate facial symmetry, and the horizontal one (look how high it is located, the cost of perspective - we are looking up at Ben) will show the location of the eyes.

Step 3

Now, using the markings from the previous step, we will draw wide brow ridges; directly below them (almost intersecting) is the oval of the nose. Also, the contours of the cheeks extend from the brow ridges, which look like the letter “T”. Under the cheeks we draw a large lower lip - an angular, beveled line passing through the entire face.

Here we’ll draw the superhero’s shorts, outlining the top hem and outlining a badge with the signature Fantastic Four logo.

Step 4

The silhouette of the Creature from the Fantastic Four is ready, now you can start drawing it. We will detail this lesson, like all others, from top to bottom, that is, from head to feet. Therefore, now we erase the extra lines from the face, draw the eyes (two semicircles that border the eyebrow line and draw the mouth.

So, we continue the lesson on how to draw a Creature. This step is quite simple, here we erase all the previously outlined internal lines, leaving only the most important ones, such as the contours of the pectoral muscles. More precisely, not the most important ones, but those whose relief will be repeated by the shell. Naturally, we do not erase the external contours.

Now we begin to draw the Creature’s shell. A significant part of the stones that form it are hexagons, but here we begin to very important rule: when we draw the shell of this hero, the stones of the shell should have a random, that is, random shape. If we try to make them look alike, we'll end up with Ben Grimm made of brick, and that shouldn't happen. Note that the rule of drawing “random” stones remains the same for drawing the Creature in any style, even the most realistic one.

In this step, use a pencil to sketch out a small part of the stone pattern on the upper area of ​​the head and on the upper part of the torso. We also try to apply a pattern to the arms and upper legs. Now it is important to try to draw the stones of the shell, so you should press the pencil very lightly.

Step 7

If in the last step everything turned out similar to the completed drawing, you can outline the markings with confident, clear lines. We start doing this, naturally, from the head.

Step 8

We perform the same operation, only with the body and arm of the Creature. The external contours of the body can be additionally edged so that they do not merge in the area of ​​the arms and sides of the body. We draw the shell on the legs. The stones on top should also be slightly curved. Another important point— as they approach the feet, the stones become smaller.
