IN summer time MBU Central Library libraries are actively working on the program "Summer Readings", which is part of the city municipal program “Izhevsk Vacations”. The goal of the program is to develop active reading activity and organize leisure time for children and adolescents in the summer.

20 branch libraries serving children are participating in the Summer Readings program in 2017. Each library plans its summer activities in accordance with the interests and needs of readers childhood(up to 14 years), taking into account the relevance and demand of topics and forms of work.

2017 in Russia has been declared the Year of Ecology, so summer library programs are dedicated to nature, conservation environment.

Many events will introduce young readers to children's writers and their works. Friends, we have already started the Program summer reading. For those who are reading about our Program for the first time, I will say that using the tag “Summer Reading Program” you can “walk” through previous years with our summer reading.

This year our theme is relevant and very interesting - ecology! "The world is beautiful, the world is alive" - this is how it sounds, and, as you well understand, there are many more books on this topic than we offer in the approximate recommendation list, to get to know.

But some books are already waiting for you in our library :)

Program Terms remain unchanged:

1. Program participants sign an agreement with the library and undertake to read a number of books determined by themselves (but not less than 3) before August 30, 2017.

2. Program participants make notes about the books they read in a reading diary.

3. Program participants prepare a presentation (for 1-2 minutes) on a book they like in free form: book trailer, media presentation, theatrical performance, etc.

4. The finalists of the program are participants who:
- fulfilled the contract with the library;
- no later than September 14, submitted their reading diaries and draft presentations for consideration.

5. The celebration for the participants of the Summer Reading Program “Beautiful World, Living World” and the award ceremony for the finalists will take place on September 24 at the address: Rostovskaya embankment, building 5.

At the book exhibition-relay race “Those who are passionate about reading convey their impressions,” the Family Reading Library presented books for younger children school age and teenagers. Books in the series “Cool Detective”, “ Funny stories», « Funny company", "Fairy tales" the children evaluate themselves with "readers", which they put books in their pockets, thus they themselves recommend reading them to their peers.

The books of the trilogy by Andrei Usachev and Anton Berezin “Dragon and Company” and Natalya Filimonova “Tesha Zakrovatny’s Vacation” are passed on from one reader to another.

Teenagers show special interest in books from the “Crossroads”, “The Wizard’s Hat”, and “Modern Fiction” series. Books by Ekaterina Vilmont, Dmitry Sobolevsky, Svetlana Lubinets, Ekaterina Karetnikova and others are especially popular modern authors.
How to become the most popular at school? How not to lose yourself among non-childish problems? Readers of our library are looking for answers to these and many other questions along with the heroes of the books in the “Only for Girls” series.

During the summer, readers of the LiK Children's Library actively take part in the relay exhibition “Those Passionate about Reading Pass on Impressions.” The guys, after reading the book they have chosen, write reviews and share their impressions: did they like the book? Why? Then they place the books at the exhibition, thereby recommending that their peers read them. These are books by Ekaterina Boldinova, Irina Kostevich, Elena Gabova, Olga Gromova, Maria Parr, James Curwood and others.

On August 25, the results of the exhibition-relay race will be summed up, a round table meeting with readers will take place and the selection will be made best books summer.

Organizing summer holidays for children and teenagers is a traditional activity of libraries. In the summer, the main task of all libraries is to provide meaningful recreation to as many schoolchildren as possible, broaden their horizons, teach creativity, communication, respect for nature, and instill a love of books.

Libraries cooperate with schools, kindergartens, work and recreation camps, and sports camps to organize summer vacations.

Others prefer to express themselves in literary creativity - they write poems, stories, letters to their favorite characters. Still others try themselves as illustrators, embodying images of book characters in drawings.

The results are summed up at a general library festival, where the winners of the summer readings will be awarded.

Moral and aesthetic education, instilling an interest in reading

Organizing children's leisure time, attracting them to reading, broadening their horizons and forming children's aesthetic perception of the world around them have always been priority areas in the work of libraries in the summer.

In addition to the traditional week children's reading, which takes place during spring break, libraries pay especially much attention to children’s reading “not according to the curriculum” in the summer.“Extraordinary Adventures”: literary quiz

Traditionally, in many libraries, the campaign to organize work in the summer begins with Pushkin Days. Libraries hold blitz tournaments, literary marathons, and quizzes dedicated to the legacy of the great poet.

Rationale for the program.

Reading for children is one of the most important prospects for the spirituality, intelligence, and culture of a nation. For the future of every nation, it is especially important how the process of children’s entry into the world of book culture occurs.

The meaning of books and how books must be presented in order to remain the main source of literacy and development for children is the essence of children's libraries.

Librarians pay great attention to the leisure time of children and adolescents in the summer. It is important that the child is busy with useful activities in the summer. In preparation and carrying out summer events the interests of the children are taken into account, their age characteristics, social status.

Library program "Summer Bibliopolyanka" includes attracting children to the library, organizing their summer leisure through games and books, close communication between the little reader and the librarian, disseminating environmental knowledge among program participants, and instilling a sense of love for the Motherland.

Every Wednesday at 11 o'clock. children meet with a book outdoors. In the park in front of the library, active and intellectual games, loud readings, quizzes, riddles, etc. are held for them.

The library should make the summer extraordinary and unforgettable for its readers. Competitions, games, adventures, travel and gifts will make children's leisure time not only interesting, but also useful.
