The next day after Vasily was taken to a psychiatric hospital, a doctor called his mother and said that her son was refusing to be treated, claiming that he was completely healthy and responsible for his condition. But the actor cannot be released just like that, it is necessary to write a statement to the court. The mother of actor Vasily Stepanov denied a suicide attempt. According to her, Stepanov fell out of the window when he was saving a cat.

The actor lay on the icy concrete until an ambulance arrived for him.

The main role in Bondarchuk's film "Inhabited Island" brought the young actor incredible popularity. Stepanov was predicted a great future, not so much because of his talent, but because of his attractive appearance. Close attention and admiring glances of fans turned his head. The actor coldly communicated with reporters, refused to shoot and interview, and then completely disappeared from sight. As it turned out, the young man had depression, and for four years he practically did not leave the house.
