Apache crew dance group composition. Dance group “The First Crew. SI: Do you have an idol among dancers, if so, who?

Creative association, consisting of 30 original dancers-artists, has already managed to fall in love with the Ukrainian audience, including thanks to their collaboration with Jamala in the video clip. Under the guidance of the choreographer, the dancers staged the play “Megapolis”, with which they successfully tour throughout Ukraine. Apache CREW were also named “Best Team in the Country”, “Discovery of the Year” according to the Myway Dance Awards in 2014 and are also winners of the “The Challenge” championship. in 2015. In an interview with Style Insider, Apache CREW members recalled school discos, their most memorable performances, and shared the emotions that everyone puts into their movements.

Maxim Kot

SI: How did you get into dancing?

Max: One day, from the disco at school No. 31, we came to the front door to try the first “footworks” and “turtle”. The year was 2000, and we still had beer hops and basement cockroaches. Tricks at the disco inspired more than wrestling and horizontal bars. All sports hobbies were forgotten, in favor of the “lower break” (that’s what it was called then). Further - classic scheme: videotapes with recordings of world festivals, the first Kyiv battles and off we go.

?

Max:"Cat". Or “so, let’s start the rehearsal of the play all over again” (the first act in the play “Megapolis” begins with me).

Max: Many people call it “experimental dance”. In general, with every workout I do it becomes more and more difficult, and it’s harder to call it dancing. “Performance”, “actionism”, “bodily practice” - these are increasingly flattering concepts for me.

Max: I don’t know how to dance, in the usual sense for people. That is, I am as stupid in repeating the movements of others as a novice forester whose ear was stepped on by a bear. In my quasi-reality, dance is a sensation and bodily reproduction of rhythm. And rhythm is everywhere: from the beat of the heart to the ticking of the clock of melting time. That is, I practically don’t dance the choreography of others. At performances or in breaking circles, depending on the purpose of the dance, I can make my own entrance or freestyle with my practiced tricks. There is complete bodily expression - this is a very powerful state that can reveal. But sometimes this is not very aesthetically pleasing, not for photo shoots.

?

Max: I don’t participate in all Apache productions, so I don’t perform with the team very often. The most memorable performance: after the play “Megapolis” in Odessa, on a pitch-black night, black as our raincoats, on the dismantled summer terrace of a cafe on a deserted beach, the Cuban Javi, a participant in the play, played Cuban songs for us on the guitar to the sounds of a restless sea. There were no spectators for this performance by Apache CREW.

Max:Tolik. I would so like to talk about his capriciousness, if not for one BUT: the man is guided by a huge noble dream. And all his whims automatically turn into volitional efforts to achieve his dreams. And everything works out. Those who worked closely with him will understand what I mean. Birder- simplicity, depth, and a beard. Galya- excellent performer, “Vikonavcha Vlada” Apache CREW. Nastya- the most experienced artist among us, on stage like a duck to water, thanks to her for the inspiration, she has powerful energy. Anya- an introvert in creative search. Masha- dedicated her life to dancing, devoted herself entirely to this craft, a fanatic with whom she dances; and somehow she beat me to chess with a score of 2:1, isn’t it a shame? Roma— charisma (this word applies only to guys), excessive ambition, which is quite harmonious with his accomplished deeds. Lisatalented person with a huge credit of confidence in herself, a citizen of the world. Twitter- cool, he has the image of such a vulnerable, gifted psycho; damn, it’s not an image, that’s what it is.

Max: Screenwriter.

Max: In my case, I don’t want to talk about dance. I want to try myself in directing, mountaineering, kiting, and motorcycle stand-riding. And more, and more thoughtfulness, putting essence into every movement. And judge twerk (laughs).

Max: Energy. Whoever tells you: “dance for yourself” is lying to you. Dancers are a self-centered people. Beautiful, narcissistic - they take full attention, popularity and even idolization from dancing. I would like to wish dancers to give more than to receive. For TV choreographers, less tragedy, more individuality. Otherwise, your sadness and universality have erased individualism. This is what many people actually come to dance for. For beginners: come up with and practice tricks, and don’t look at the floor.

Max: For me, dancing is one of a million forms of realizing my ideas. It's a good form and a lot of people listen to it. Dance is natural.

Max: Detours. Their 2000 video changed my attitude towards creativity in dance. My team and I watched it around 2005, if I’m not mistaken. They were way ahead of their time. I am also inspired by people and movements that are impossible to repeat because of their super complexity (there is a concept in dance “2 hard 2 bite” - it’s hard to steal). Breaking movers, flexible or inventive guys. I am happy that I was able to meet many of them, world artists, personally.

Max: I would like to act in a movie about the military or in mysticism. I am happy to play in any project of the Sachivko tandem (creators of many videos from Apache CREW). I would write the script for the “Brutto” video. I would freeze to death in the old Soviet depot in the video from “Car Drivers.” I would have had a fight on the set with Aphex Twin. Well, the ultimate dream is a music video for the Chemical Brothers collaboration. Did you see the last clip?

Lisa Ryabinina

SI: How did you get into dancing?

Lisa: I got into dancing thanks to dance videos. I was very interested in them and watched them often. I dreamed that one day I could dance like that. A couple of years later I signed up for a dance studio.

SI: What do they call you on the team?

Lisa: I don’t have a nickname, and I admit, I’m very glad about it. I love it when people are called by name.

SI: How would you describe your style?

Lisa: I do not even know. I never thought about it. In my dances I pay a lot of attention to isolation and logic.

SI: Do you prefer to dance prepared choreography or freestyle?

Lisa: Both this and that. Definitely. I think you need to be able to do both choreography and good freestyle. These two things are very deeply interconnected, and cannot exist without each other.

SI: What a performance with Apache CREWdo you remember most?

Lisa: Apache CREW on “Everybody Dance-6” as invited guests. This was my first performance with the team, and one of the most significant events in my dance career.

SI: Describe each team member in three words?

Lisa: I respect every dancer immensely, everyone has something to learn from. I won’t describe it for a long time, but I think these people have one thing in common: common feature- sense of self. I mean, a sense of your space, dance, your thoughts and understanding of your actions.

Lisa: I would love to play some minor role, but very memorable to the viewer. Some kind of bright character with little airtime.

SI: What other dance styles would you like to master?

Lisa: I would say top rock, krump and flying low technique. The styles are very different and have almost no connection with each other. But they are very interesting and educational.

SI: What, in your opinion, is the most important thing for a dancer?

Lisa: I think this “important thing for a dancer” is different for everyone. Some focus on physical fitness, some on technique, some on character. In addition, this “important” manifests itself differently for everyone. It turns out that, as such, there is simply no “main thing in common” for all dancers.

SI: For you, is dancing a calling or a hobby?

Lisa: This is not a hobby, but I don’t want to throw around loud words that this is my calling. This is my creative activity. This is my self-expression. These are my thoughts.

SI: Do you have an idol among dancers?

Lisa: When I first started dancing, there were many idols. After a while, I realized that I shouldn’t look up to anyone. There is your own path, and it is much more interesting than the path of an idol or some famous dancer.

Lisa: I've always wanted to work with Justin Timberlake. His music has been close to him since childhood. In general, there are many performers with whom I would like to work. I hope it turns out that way. Let's see how everything turns out.

Roman Chukhmanenko

SI: How did you get into dancing?

Novel: It all started from Khreshchatyk. And street dancing. I was inspired by those guys, with their party, their passion and internal state, which was transmitted to the viewer in full measure. This all happened in the year 2007. Soon I got to the pro championship and decided for sure that I would dance, seeing what human capabilities were unfolding right before my eyes. Back then I thought that being able to do something like that was like being some kind of superhero.

SI: What do they call you on the team??

Novel: There are a couple of nicknames, depending on the situation and my behavior. "Gangster" and "moral fighter".

SI: How would you describe your style?

Novel: What I do can be described as follows: it is a synthesis of street styles, based on breaking. This is a kind of fusion that includes the entire base of my body movement, from isolations to acrobatics, in different planes and levels.

SI: Do you prefer to dance prepared choreography or freestyle?

Novel: My initial attitude towards dance is, of course, its Freedom! You live in real time, anything can happen at any moment, and the “data of circumstances” provide an opportunity to express yourself. That is, I am more inclined towards freestyle, but choreography is definitely an aspect that has not been revealed to me. When I have the opportunity to learn someone else’s form or come up with my own form, it is an experience, especially since I am often surrounded by those dancers whose form is interesting to adopt and feel.

SI: What a performance with Apache CREWdo you remember most?

Novel: A couple of performances were very memorable. This is our demo for the play “Megapolis”, which we danced for the first time at the “Feel The Beat” festival, if I’m not mistaken, a year ago! And the act that we put together in 2 days took first place at the “The Challenge” festival, creating a kind of “party” on stage, in which, like in each of our acts, there are a lot of storylines! It was easy, fun, and a little crazy. Well, and of course, the first appearance on stage with our performance in Kiev musical theater. A lot of work and effort, sleepless nights, nerves... Coming on stage with all this - the feelings were unforgettable!

SI: Describe each team member in three words?

Novel: I don’t want to talk about anyone in particular, but there is something. And space, and open souls, an endless supply of energy, strength, stubbornness, experience, air, fire. People gradually reveal themselves as they communicate, and each of the above qualities is present in each of us to some extent.

SI: If you starred in a movie about dancing, what role would be ideal for you?

Novel: It so happened that quite recently I had the chance to act in a movie - the first Ukrainian full-length dance action film, starring the antagonist. I really like the role, our characters and the hero are similar. But the stories and situations in life are different, which did not stop me from playing the capital’s major, who, however, is cool not only thanks to his parents’ money, but has also succeeded a lot. My hero is not at all interested in other people's problems and troubles, thinking only about himself and his goals. By coincidence, he experiences some kind of enlightenment, a kind of repentance. The film will be released in 2016 under the title “Let’s dance”.

SI: What other dance styles would you like to master?

Novel: I don’t stop there, it’s just that, having gained initial experience, I stopped learning “styles”, and began to develop the capabilities of the body, which can lead me into the most unpredictable styles and sub-styles.

SI: What, in your opinion, is the most important thing for a dancer?

Novel: The main features of any creative person, as for me, is determination, willpower, self-discipline, the ability to listen, the ability to express, be open to new things, be able to stand your ground, and, in the end, faith in what you are doing. If we talk about physical fitness, then for me the truth is in the phrase “A healthy mind in a healthy body.”

SI: For you, is dancing a calling or a hobby?

Novel: For me, dancing is self-development. This is one of the things that opened my eyes to the world, one of the levers that takes me to the next level as a person. My activities are not limited to dancing, but it is definitely an integral part of my life! As the elders of breaking once said, “there are no former b-boys.”

SI: Do you have an idol among dancers?

Novel: There are people who inspire me - there are a lot of them. You don’t even need to leave your own hall to stumble upon these very people. The habit of having an idol is contagious, you may not become the same or, having become, you will not know what to do next. You are your own idol, the main thing is to eat from different sources and look for yourself. The main thing is to appreciate the work of others, and not only take, but also constantly create something for the next generation!

SI: Which musicians are close to you? Whose video would you like to appear in?

Novel: It’s the same story with musicians as with dancers. There are a lot of them – genres, performances, styles, trends. Music is one of the main inspirations that can bring you into any state. I really love music, different, from pop-punk to electronic, just beats or funk, some kind of future or classics - it doesn’t matter if the music is good. I would like to work with a lot of people. If we take the closest ones, then this is at least 5’nizza, Boombox, .

Anya Turchina

SI: How did you get into dancing?

Anya: It all started quite frivolously. My best friend “forcibly” signed me up for the Miss Faculty competition, and a local choreographer prepared us for the competition. The next season, she and I decided to sign up for classes with him, but in the end we ended up in another school, where we were taught “club” dancing (we really loved night parties with my friend). In a year club dancing turned into an underground trend, and soon the university faded into the background.

SI: What do they call you on the team??

Anya: The team calls me by name. But Lately, increasingly by last name. This happens in all microsocieties where I appear.

Anya: I have already mentioned that at first I began to study hip-hop, house dance, krump and other underground styles. The latter greatly influenced my presentation, and hip-hop will always groove in my heart. Now I can’t define my dancing to a specific style, and I don’t want to do that. I look for myself in different styles. “Experimental”, that’s what they say. Now I am very impressed by vogue, I take a lot from there. Ideally, I want my dance to have such components as Style, Freedom, Thought, Performance, Revelation, Professionalism, Performance. I'm trying to go in this direction.

SI: Do you prefer to dance prepared choreography or freestyle?

Anya: I like both options. Depends on the mood. More and more I want to move in free style. But creating choreography is also very interesting!

SI: What a performance with?

Anya: It's a difficult question. In reality it’s like this: there are performances (filming) that have left their mark for the rest of my life, I’m not afraid of this word, and I can talk about each of them for a long time. But the best part is the performance at the LKS (“ Best team countries"), which brought us victory, the shooting of Jamala's video "Lost" and the video (and the process of its creation) Apache Crew - Bad Dancer.

SI: Describe each team member in three words?

Anya: Unexpected, but nice. So this means: Roma- sharp, purposeful, speaker; Masha— dance machine, professional, lover of life; Max Cat- like a cat, on its own, but in free connection with everyone, an inventor, a ranger; Lisa— American girl, responsible, works hard on herself, has an easy-going attitude towards everything; Galya— puts people at ease, professional, tactful, subtle humor; Nastya— artist, girl from another era, inspiring, subtle perception of the world; Sasha- and I repeat again - a professional, a responsive person, a cool partner, whose image on stage is ambivalent; Dima- a versatile dancer, my partner in the play, a favorite of the female audience; Tolik- a fast-growing entertainer, a dreamer, a person who can change history, an enigma.

SI: If you starred in a movie about dancing, what role would be ideal for you?

Anya: Probably the image is mysterious, original. A mixture of Uma Thurman in " Pulp Fiction"and Milla Jovovich in "The 5th Element". In general, I really like the image and attitude of the Indian girl to dance in “Dancer” by Luc Besson. But I also want to try completely opposite images - lyrical, comedic, for example.

SI: What other dance styles would you like to master?

Anya: I like contemporary, vogue and dancehall. On this moment, at least.

SI: What, in your opinion, is the most important thing for a dancer?

Anya: Definitely flawless physical form gives you more possibilities in dance (here flexibility, strength, endurance, lightness, etc.), plus, this Nice picture for the viewer. For a dancer, as for me, it is important to be an artist who carries non-verbal information to the one who contemplates. It's responsible. It is also important to constantly fill up, nourish your content in order to be attractive and interesting. Search. Trying, even if it is strange, uncomfortable. Don't try to repeat someone else's success. Be yourself! Exchange. Get inspired!

SI: For you, is dancing a calling or a hobby?

Anya: I had periods when I was not able to dance. I was an unhappy person then. The opportunity to be on stage is an undeniable pleasure. It can be compared to a mother's hug.

SI: Do you have an idol among dancers?

Anya: There are, of course, a lot of them. But there are those that greatly influenced the course of my dance events. These are, for example, Anatoly Sachivko, Vitalik Savchenko and Artemy Lazarev.

SI: Which musicians are close to you? Whose video would you like to appear in?

Anya: Oh! There are a lot of musicians close to me. But there are performers in whose video I would like to star (in the leading role, of course!) - this is the group, FKA Twigs, Zhanna Aguzarova, Pharrell Williams.

Alexander Ptashnik

SI: How did you get into dancing?

Oleksandr: I can’t say for sure, if I myself have become obsessed with this type of mysticism. This was in school, watching clips with choreographic designs to music. channels, having pinched the urge to start dancing. I took over some of the material from what I learned, and came up with some of it myself, wanting to call it choreography, but that’s how my journey began.

SI: What do they call you on the team??

Oleksandr: I don’t have a specific name that would be clearly tied to the command. I think Anya Turchina nicknamed me Birdman, but it didn’t catch on, but it suits me. And in the kramper kola of Kiev, I am known as Twin Spitfire.

SI: How would you describe the style in which you dance?

Oleksandr: In Apache CREW I represent the krump style, a rather young culture that is currently gaining popularity in Ukraine. Vaughn, like all dance styles, has a rich history of development. Who can say that the head rice of the krump style is aggression. This is far from the case. The head rice style is a manifestation of the spiritual power of a person. In each case, the dancer finds the character that most appeals to him, and continually strives to achieve the character that is attached to his hero.

SI: Do you prefer to dance prepared choreography or freestyle?

Oleksandr: Since I dance krump (and krump dances solo), I am more adept at freestyle. There are a lot of things you can say to freestyle. I also love Ale and the ferret.

SI: What a performance with do you remember most?

Oleksandr: They burned up everything that we had done, in our own way often. I put my mind to the maximum into skin performance. A short time ago, I remembered my first performance with the team at the “Feel the beat” festival, which was a kind of crumpled version of “Megapolis”, which then evolved into a large-scale “phenomenon of the Ukrainian scene”.

SI: Describe each team member in three words?

Oleksandr: Mashka Kozlova: always without being in a bad mood, but their energy always charges, especially on the ledges. Such a lively fellow. Anya Turchina: Zhannya Aguzarova in dance culture. I really love reading these verses. The truth does not make them understand, but it dampens my brain to practice. Liza Ryabinina: Its purposefulness, as wines are hailed with great successes, will always be appreciated. Dima Twitter: a rich-faced blond, he couldn’t take on any role without a look. This is something that can be dealt with quickly. Roma Armo: creative nature, neatly packaged in a bottle called Bad Boy. He knows what to work for and never get ruined in a difficult situation. Max Cat: After getting to know Max, and what he does, I marveled at breaking from the other side. Galya Pekha: simplicity, erudition, modesty, kindness - viciousness, which is not confirmed in words. The bones, which harmoniously join with the plastic, and flutter into spluttering dance forms. Nastya Kharchenko: Inkoli is just a mystery, but inkoli is a whole cosmos, engulfed in a subtle sense of humor, which makes you lose your head.

SI: If you starred in a movie about dancing, what role would be ideal for you?

Oleksandr: It would be cool if there was a film about Apache CREW, and I would make it for myself.

SI: What other dance styles would you like to master?

Oleksandr: For now, I am satisfied with what I have in my mouth. And less of this is missing. There is a time for everything.

SI: What, in your opinion, is the most important thing for a dancer?

Oleksandr: I think there is no need to overreact, we all know what kind of wickedness the professional is guilty of. Golovne - to become deprived of people.

SI: For you, is dancing a calling or a hobby?

Oleksandr: Let’s call it a call.

SI: Do you have an idol among dancers, if so, who?

Oleksandr: The founder of the krump style is Tight Eyez. Lyudina, who created something new in 16 years, has already become a legend. Yak did not lose the watery sophistication, gradually renewing the style with the new ones, both at the same time and in the middle.

SI: Which musicians are close to you? Whose video would you like to appear in?

Oleksandr: Hey, I’m a music lover and I don’t get attached to just anything. I listen to both local and foreign music. But I want to improve the 5’nizza.

Galya Pekha

SI: How did you get into dancing, when and who inspired you?

Galya: As a child, when my mother appeared somewhere with me, she was often offered to send “the child to sports.” Already at that time I had an athletic build; my parents only had to choose which section to put me in. One day, quite by accident, I found myself on open lesson for ballroom dancing! Seeing beautiful girls in luxurious dresses with rhinestones and shiny stones... How could I resist? I got sick of it for the next 15 years. Now I don’t regret one bit that there was such a busy and, at times, very difficult period in my life. I gained invaluable experience.

SI: What do they call you on the team??

Galya: Fortunately or unfortunately, I don't have a nickname on the team.

SI: How would you describe the style in which you dance?

Galya: For me, style is not limited to dance styles. This is something more, self-expression, so to speak! In my opinion, style is the search for the perfect shape for my body. Having some experience in dance field, I'm still searching, that's why I dance. When I find it, development will end.

SI: Do you prefer to dance prepared choreography or freestyle?

Galya: Most of my dance journey was spent performing choreography. Only after joining the Apache CREW team did I begin new stage, stage of creativity. Having the opportunity to see how representatives of other dance styles work on themselves, it was as if my hands were untied, I found new tool inspiration, and it lies in improvisation and synthesis of various dance styles. Thanks to this source, I learned a lot about myself. My only regret is that this didn’t happen to me earlier.

SI: What a performance withApache CREW you remember most?

Galya: For me, there is nothing more valuable than the opportunity to be on stage, so the premiere of the play “Megapolis” on the KMATOB stage became an unforgettable event for me. Still mentally returning to the period of preparation, as well as remembering my heartbeat during the performance itself, I am filled with energy and strength to move on, to prepare myself for the opportunity to “live” another separate life on this stage.

SI: Describe each team member in three words?

Galya: Dima– a gifted dancer, whose plasticity and facial expressions cannot leave the viewer indifferent. What other qualities should a real artist have? I draw inspiration from his breaking, he is a kind of “teacher” for me. Nastya- the source of my inexhaustible inspiration. I see in her eyes the whole world, I see this in her dance. In addition, we are fellow countrymen and we are united by our love for our native Black Sea. So Nastya is like the sea to me – deep and breathing freedom. Masha– if I were asked to describe Masha in one word, I would say “energy”! She never stands still, she is always on the way to her goals. Masha and I went through many difficulties, and I can say that I am a witness of her constant, round-the-clock work on herself. I learn from her every day. Max is a unique artist whose dance has a hypnotic effect on me. I admire the way he harnesses the power of his body and mind. Sasha– a dancer who very skillfully combines completely polar styles. Having vast dance experience behind him, he managed to maintain his original and courageous movement, which made his style recognizable. I love watching him dance and admire the strength that his body breathes. Lisa– a man who says little and does a lot! She is, in a good way, obsessed with dance and works 24/7 on her style. Hard work brings results, she is known all over the world, and I, in turn, am proud to be on the same team with her. Roma– a dancer with incredibly strong energy. His dance attracts the attention of the audience. Each of his “outputs” is a separate performance in which Roma strictly adheres to his own style and image. The energy and enthusiasm with which he approaches business cannot leave anyone indifferent. Anya- a unique person in every sense. She breathes creativity, personified by her dance and her poetry. Her life is an eternal search; behind her every movement there is a certain meaning. This attracts the viewer's interest, because it is always interesting to unravel someone, especially if he is a real artist on stage.

SI: If you starred in a movie about dancing, what role would be ideal for you?

Galya: I'm very interested in acting in films. Frankly, for me, it doesn't necessarily need to be a dance film. I would like to reward my heroine with qualities that I do not possess in life. Play your antagonist. I would really like to dive into real, serious work on the role.

SI: What other dance styles would you like to master?

Galya: The main thing for a dancer is to work with his head, as in any other creative profession. Teaching your body to move, “speak” and evoke a response from the viewer is not the same thing.

SI: What, in your opinion, is the most important thing for a dancer?

Galya: I don’t know what is most important for a dancer in general, but for me the main thing is constant concentration on what I am doing. Working on myself and developing, my greatest fear is losing something that is unique to me alone.

SI: For you, is dancing a calling or a hobby?

Galya: Dance is one of the forms of expressing oneself in art, and nothing else.

SI: Do you have an idol among dancers?

Galya: I have no idols in principle. There are “example people” and they surround me, they set the rhythm that I follow, but only in their own way.

SI: Which musicians are close to you? Whose video would you like to appear in?

Galya: Good quality music always makes me want to dance to it. Fortunately, Ukraine is now experiencing a period of prosperity music scene and I want to interact with young “us” in any capacity.

Dmitry Shchebet

SI: How did you get into dancing?

Dmitriy: Very simple. I came and signed up for the club immediately after returning from camp, where I happened to see a couple of b-boys. I started on September 1, 2005, and three days later I realized my calling in this difficult matter.

SI: What do they call you on the team??

Dmitriy: If we are talking about a nickname, then there is none. They call me by my last name.

SI: How would you describe the style in which you dance?

Dmitriy: I'm a b-boy, according to the description I can add something anti-gravity, but I won't.

SI: Do you prefer to dance prepared choreography or freestyle?

Dmitriy: In the prepared choreography, as for me, there is no less freestyle than in himself. It’s the same with freestyle, there’s no point in it if there’s no preparation. But I'm a freestyler.

SI: What a performance with Apache CREW do you remember most?

Dmitriy: What I remember more than any other was the preparation for the battle for the LKS. We won, and this is my first appearance for the team.

SI: Describe each team member in three words?

Dmitriy: Roma– character, energy, music. Maksim– cat, tram, satellite. Sasha Ptashnik- language, brotherhood, courage. Nastya– theater, sea, light. Anya– mood, talent, truthfulness. Galya– spirit, art, intellectual.

SI: If you starred in a movie about dancing, what role would be ideal for you?

Dmitriy: I would love to fall in love with the role. Maybe I'll be lucky with such a role someday. And the ideal role, at least for now, was negative roles.

SI: What other dance styles would you like to master?

Dmitriy: I would not like to learn any styles, but simply to master everything that I already have and cope with it with dignity. Find the best application and action for all knowledge. And style will come in due time, if necessary.

SI: What, in your opinion, is the most important thing for a dancer?

Dmitriy: The main thing for a dancer is not to stop being a dancer, for a moment or period. Relax and let go of thoughts, be able to reboot, have outlets and time alone. Then both physics and psyche, I think, will be formed as a good dancer should. Well, the most important thing is work.

SI: For you, is dancing a calling or a hobby?

Dmitriy: Vocation.

SI: Do you have an idol among dancers?

Dmitriy: Many cool people inspire me, but there are no idols among them.

SI: Which musicians are close to you? Whose video would you like to appear in?

Dmitriy: I didn’t think about the video, but I consider Bonobo close. He has been with me for a long time.

Anastasia Kharchenko

SI: How did you get into dancing?

Anastasia: As a child, my family sent me to a choreographic school in Odessa, and that’s where it all began. Inspiration/inspirations appear, disappear, then appear again and disappear again, this process is constant, I can’t single out just one.

SI: What do they call you on the team??

Anastasia: The team calls me by name. I don't have any nickname.

SI: How would you describe the style in which you dance?

Anastasia: If I were a writer, I would put it into words. I can't describe my style. These are feelings, emotions that move me, that take on some kind of form, a character is born, a semantic background is born, a dance is born. I’m not very good at talking about it, so I dance.

SI: Do you prefer to dance prepared choreography or freestyle?

Anastasia: Performing choreography and mastering freestyle are so different things that they are equally interesting. When I joined the team, I became acquainted with freestyle, and gradually began to discover this concept for myself. This is freedom in all its manifestations, which greatly delights. But it’s also interesting to work with choreography and the author’s handwriting. When frames are present, you can also travel in them. As for myself, more often I work with prepared choreography.

SI: What a performance withApache CREW you remember most?

Anastasia: I remember everything. Every performance, every shoot. Each of them is a separate journey. I don’t want to single out any one thing, I’m quietly grateful that all this is happening.

SI: Describe each team member in three words?

Apache Crew, the hottest dance crew in the country, has gone from being on a TV show to creating theater.

“Feel your partner! Where's the passion? Where's the sex? This is how Anatoly Sachivko, choreographer and founder of Apache Crew, “educates” his students. IN dance studio Dside on Lybidskaya the music is thundering: today thirty people are rehearsing here - most of Apache Crew. It’s hot in the hall, sportswear, sneakers, and gymnastics mats are everywhere. The guys are preparing a performance for Eurovision: to the music written especially for them, they stage a mini-play about street youth to show everyone how they dance on the streets of Kyiv. Tall, blue-eyed Anatoly demands passion from dancers - there is no way on the streets without it. There is more than enough passion in the next scene, when the guys are rehearsing a street fight: the guys “fly” around the hall with a wild scream, the girls dance in front of them. I urgently want to start dancing next to you.

“My like-minded people shouldn’t be like me. It's boring when everyone dances the same way."

The whole country knows Apache Crew: they are the stars of the videos of Jamala, Monatik, the Bahrom group and other artists. Sachivko’s friendship with Jamala began back in 2015 on the set of the video “Lost,” and last year Jamala entrusted him with filming the video for the song “1944,” which brought her victory at Eurovision. They went to the Carpathians, to the abandoned Pamir radar station high in the mountains, on the border with Romania, and made a video there about a certain tribe in which a misfortune happened. They filmed in June, and from +30 oC the temperature suddenly dropped to +9: it began to rain, the roads were washed away - Jamala says that this was the most difficult filming of her life. But the Apache Crew dancers were not at a loss: hungry and cold, in wet clothes, they danced in the rain for three days as if nothing had happened. “It’s just a pity that we didn’t have any rehearsals,” recalls Anatoly. “I saw Jamala already in the frame, but she had plenty of energy, so the shooting went off with a bang.”

There are fifty people in the Apache Crew troupe, each with their own story: Dmitry Shchebet, the winner of the Russian show “Dancing with the Stars,” moved to Kiev from Kazakhstan specifically for the sake of Apache Crew, and Maria Kozlova from Samara combines work in the team with master classes and tours around the world. throughout the CIS. Everyone works in different styles: Twitter, for example, dances only breakdancing, Kozlova – wacking. “When choosing a team, I knew for sure: my like-minded people should not be like me. It’s boring when everyone dances the same way,” explains Sachivko.

Anatoly is sure: a great dancer is a free dancer. He studied from the age of four folk dances, and then, as often happens when you are 14, there was an “internal rebellion” - and he went into modern dance. In the Kyiv dance studio Myway, he tried dozens of genres - “to loosen up and become more flexible.” At the age of 19, I got on the show “Dance Everything” on the STB channel, where I enchantingly danced everything - from jazz and rock and roll to the waltz and rumba. I became a finalist, received several offers from STB producers, but refused all of them because “I don’t like adapting to the audience.” He gathered the best dancers and in 2014 founded Apache Crew, a dance team that instantly became the most fashionable in the country. The guys are filming advertising campaigns Ukrainian brands (last year, for example, they participated in the Syndicate Original promo video, and a month ago in the Litkovskaya campaign), go on tour with musicians, choreograph for Ukrainian artists. But this, Anatoly is sure, is not the limit. “I want something more complex than learning choreography and repeating it for a month on tour.”

“A great dancer is a free dancer”

Therefore, today Apache Crew has two tasks: to open its own theater and develop performative art in Ukraine. This year, Anatoly Sachivko and Apache Crew staged two performances - Megapolis and This Is Jazz Jam - and traveled with them throughout Ukraine. But performances need a base, and now the main thing is to find a theater space where Apache Crew will start rehearsing new performance, the premiere of which is promised to be shown this year.

Recently, it has become increasingly difficult to keep the viewer engaged for the entire 3-4 minutes that the clip lasts. Many people try to achieve this through dance.
Today, one of the most emotional Ukrainian bands, Bahroma, presented a video with the participation of Apache Crew. On this occasion we remember a couple more music videos with the dancers of this team.

Bahroma - “In the Depths”

Anna Kopylova (director)

“The most difficult thing was to wait for the rain to stop, which suddenly started on the day of shooting. But then we decided that with the rain it was even cooler, and then everything was easy.”

Roman Bakharev (group leader)

“I immediately liked the script proposed by Anya. Moreover, as a fan of minimalism, I was captivated by the fact that the video was in black and white. The video turned out beautiful and strong.”

Jamala - "Lost"

“I heard this song in a new way at Jamala’s concert and saw that we could give it full visualization. I’m very pleased with the process of working on the video, and people should appreciate the result.”

Jamala

"This dance performance, in my opinion, illustrate the animal part of human nature. You know, when people search for theirs “by smell”. In particular, I'm talking about the moment when main character wants to find his one and only in a crowd of people. And she tries to understand who he is through smell, through touch. It's like what blind people told me."

K.A.T.Y.A. — “New file”

Katya Rogovaya

“I saw one of the Apache Crew’s performances on YouTube and decided to approach Tolik with the idea of a dance video. He liked the track and soon we started rehearsals. The clip was shot in three frames and it was very interesting to stew in this whole process, when some of the dancers run behind the operator’s back and then appear in the frame in a new scene.

There is a moment when I am thrown out of the frame. In one of the test takes, I landed poorly and, unfortunately, my knee gave out on me. From time to time I felt that my leg was giving way and was not listening. Later I found out that I had been dancing the entire shooting day with a torn ligament.

All the dancers are very colorful. I watch this video regularly to see what each of them does. It's a mixture of dance styles, it's a special mood and it's all a little strange. How I love".

Anatoly Sachivko (choreographer, director)

“Katyukha is cool, very hardworking, she was at all rehearsals. She wanted to take part in everything, it was very nice. She trusted me, I thank her very much for that.”
