1. Why did you, instead of living like everyone else, decide to become a pagan?

If they call me a pagan, I will not be offended and will not deny: “No, I am not a pagan.” But since I do not accept the terms “pagan”, “paganism”, which denote people of other faiths and foreigners (in relation to the Slavs and Aryans), I would say to myself: “I am an adherent of the Native, Slavic-Aryan, Natural Faith.” By this I understand man’s desire for harmony with Nature, for understanding and comprehension of Her laws, the forces of Nature and the Parent-Clan. The Parent-Clan is the Supreme God and the First Cause of the existence of All That Is, his children - the Slavic-Aryan Gods, of which Man and the human are a part. society.

2. If you reject Jesus Christ, who is your Supreme God?

The question is posed incorrectly both in form and content. I do not reject Jesus Christ, I do not doubt his existence and I believe that he gave the Jews the moral and ethical foundations of Christianity. However, for me, Jesus Christ is in no way identified with the concept of “Supreme God”. The Supreme God is God the Progenitor, which is contained in his name: ROD.

3. Do you believe in the immortality of the soul and in the afterlife?

The soul is immortal and the body is to it what clothing is to the body. Although this is probably a very simplified comparison. Rather, the body is the material carrier of the soul. The soul can either fulfill its evolutionary task in this body or it cannot. Then the solution of the problem continues in the next body (the great-grandson or great-great-grandson of one’s children). I don’t understand what the afterlife is and why believe in it. What kind of life can there be in the coffin or beyond? Is it the life of worms?

4. Did your Gods appear to you in a dream or in reality: Svarog, Perun, Lada?

To answer this question, it is necessary to define the very concept of Gods. For me, Gods are not anthropomorphic images that can appear in a dream or in reality, but the Energy of Life with which the Parent Rod filled the Universe. These are His various hypostases, aspects, properties, if you like, manifestations of His Soul and Spirit, the essence of which is expressed in the names: Lada is Lada, Harmony, Love. Svarog and Perun are Light in its various manifestations: Svarog is the Light of thermonuclear processes, Perun is the Light of Heavenly Electricity. Why do They appear to us in a dream? They are here and now all the time.

5. What guides your Faith? (Christians are guided, for example, by the Bible)

Christians need guidance, so they check their lives against the Bible - if the Bible doesn't say it, it doesn't exist. People of Natural Faith communicate with the Gods not through instructions or manuals, but directly, like children with their father and mother, grandfathers and grandmothers.

6. How should a modern pagan be buried? Describe the burial ritual.

All the “books of the dead” tell not what to do with the body that the soul has left, but how to help the soul return home - to the Heavenly Abode. In Rus' there was a ritual of seeing off the soul, and somewhere it still exists today. Our ancestors never desecrated Mother Earth with rotting flesh. Those who managed to complete their evolutionary path on this Earth turned their body into Light (as our Ancestors - the Slavic-Aryan Gods and Goddesses - did in their time). Those who did not have time were ascended to the Heavenly Halls of the Parent Family with the help of cremation of their bodies carried out by relatives. The name of the funeral bonfire “Kroda” speaks for itself. The souls of the dead, with the help of sacred rites during the cremation of bodies, ascended to the Parent Family.

7. What is Tradition and how can one revive something that has long died and become a relic of the past? Does anyone have reliable knowledge about the Tradition to revive it? How do we know that you are reviving the Tradition, and not someone’s invention?

Manuscripts do not burn, Tradition does not die. Remnants die away. Tradition is a path, a custom, an established order of Life, which provides the opportunity not to lose the Trayan Path and return along it to the world of Rule, to the Family, from where we descended into this Explicit World. Forms die, forms are reborn, but Tradition remains. When a person feels that he is being torn away from the correct worldview, he begins to look for the Ancestral Roots in order to hold on. When an entire People breaks away, the process of searching for Ancestral Roots becomes nationwide. You can deceive one person, a group of people, but not the People. Sooner or later, the deception comes out and becomes obvious. Then the People decide how to restore and strengthen the Ancestral Roots and thank the deceivers for teaching them the lesson of gaining immunity against lies.

8. Is it possible to do without religion and magic? Where is the evidence that the Earth, mountain, stone, tree have Soul and Consciousness? How is it possible to talk to them?

The era of militant atheism gave rise to similar questions, but it is being replaced by times when people again want to talk to stones and trees. And many succeed again.

9. Tradition is vast and diverse, on the basis of what do you choose the Tradition and mythology of one people from the many possibilities that each of us has?

We live in this Space and Time, and the local Tradition developed under the influence of this place, this climate, these spiritual and moral conditions of Life. In other conditions, another Tradition, another Culture is more appropriate. Tradition is what helps to live most harmoniously in this - Explicit Life. Conditions change, Life changes, tradition is adjusted. A foreign culture can take root here and bear fruit if it fits harmoniously into these conditions of Life, or it can develop into a cancerous tumor.

10. Is it worth abandoning Christian morality on which the modern world rests?

Not the whole world, but only one of its parts. Christians turn to Jesus for help and support, but people of the Native Faith, knowing their status as Children of God, solve their problems themselves, sing Glory to the Gods and do not ask them for anything, therefore they are Slavs and Orthodox (Glorifying Rulers).

Christ came to atone for the sins of the Jews, and at the same time those who of their own free will rushed after him (as if someone asked them to atone for the sins of the Jews with him), therefore Christians sin and repent in order to sin again, because according to the Jewish religion, they are people weak and sinful from birth and born in sin. A person of Vedic Culture himself, in conscience, is responsible to the Gods and Ancestors for his Life, actions and their results, therefore he does not need either a Scapegoat (for the followers of the cult) or a Messiah (for the masses) who atones for the sins of others.

Christians consider life on Earth to be a preparatory stage for eternal life, life after death, and therefore they are of little interest surrounding nature(Roda's dowry) and her Fate. Rodnover lives here and now and moves from one life incarnation to another as a student from class to class, therefore he lives in Nature as in his home and takes care of Her.

11. Won’t paganism be destructive for society, for Russian statehood, and for the competitiveness of the economy?

12. What is the basic principle of the Pagan (Traditional) Faith?

The bearer of the Traditional Worldview or Natural Faith is the one who feels himself to be a part of Nature, lives in harmony with Her. He does not need to own a part of Nature - he is a part himself and possesses the whole. He recognizes the Earth as a living organism, recognizing its Divine Origin. And therefore, only he - a descendant of the Gods and the bearer of the Spark of God, and not a servant of God (Jehovah, Sabaoth) can be the Master. The owner is not the one who has slaves, but the one who thinks like a master, who advocates for the economy to be strong, strong, rich both in the Family and in the State. So that it would not be a shame to go to Iriy-Sad, but leave a good memory of yourself and a household for relatives and descendants.

13. Can a Christian become a Pagan - Rodnover?

Native Faith is the Primordial Natural Given, originating from the very nature of things and inherent in the souls of all people without exception. Rodnoverie does not have any one founder, but is an integral part of the Spiritual experience of human society, which fundamentally distinguishes the Native Faith from numerous religions created by people on the basis of the private spiritual experience of their founders. Therefore, any Christian (if he is a mentally healthy person) is Orthodox in his soul (Glorifying Rule - the Higher spiritual world of the Parent Family). Another thing is that it is very difficult to eradicate from oneself an alien darkness, expressed in mental disorder: “I am a servant of God,” for this it will not be enough to proclaim oneself a Rodnover.

14. How many pagans are there in Russia? How many pagans are there in Europe? How many are there in the world?

The answer to this question is contained in the previous answer. Just tell me how many people there are in Russia, in Europe, in the World.

75. How do pagans feel about the swastika?

We know many types of this symbol, which have different names and different meanings, but its main meaning is Divine origin, development, change and creation. We call this symbol Yarga.

16. Is there at least one country in the world where Paganism is the official religion?

Based on the fact that Christians call all non-Christians pagans, all non-Christian countries and peoples have paganism as their official religion.

17. Isn’t the surge of Paganism now connected with the emergence of Tolkienism?

The whole should not be confused with the particular. The emergence of Tolkienism is only part general trend returning to your Ancestral Roots.

18. How many gods do pagans have? There is One God the Progenitor and an infinite number of His hypostases, aspects, forms and manifestations. And even a child understands that his Family is One and Multiple at the same time.

19. How long ago did you join paganism? How did this happen, who or what prompted this step? Did you practice any other religion before?

Being a son of my era, I professed atheism. I have been an Orthodox Rodnover all my life, but I didn’t immediately learn that it was called that.

20. Do you practice any pagan rituals constantly, which ones?

Yes, I always say “Hello!” to someone I know when I meet.

21. There is a widespread belief that no reliable data has been preserved about the Slavic faith, much less descriptions of cult practices. Please comment on this.

The biography and deeds of Christ began to be written in the 3rd-4th century, i.e. 350 years after his crucifixion. Out of hundreds, only 4 were canonized, and the rest are not officially recognized and are called apocrypha. Not a single source indicates when Christ was born, but nevertheless, his Christmas is celebrated on the Winter Solstice, and in Russia 13 days after that. However, Christianity exists and the number of Christian religious practices only increases over time. If information about the Native Slavic Faith was carefully destroyed, this does not mean that it does not exist.

22. Slavic paganism was, in essence, an agrarian religion, except for the cult of Perun, inherent in the military elite. How do you think it can even exist in today’s industrial Russia?

I would not take the liberty of asserting that the Slavic Faith was an agrarian religion. In my deep conviction, Rodnoverie is based primarily on the fact that Man himself is responsible for his own Fate, without counting on the Messiah or the Scapegoat. There is no slave and consumer ideology in him, he does not expect benefits afterlife, but lives here and now, for him Nature is not an object of consumption, but the Mother - a part of himself. Having such principles, humanity will not be able to bring the Earth to a state of disaster.

23. Did the Pagans have any problems with other faiths and representatives of the law?

Native Vera has always been tolerant of other faiths, which did not benefit her. Christianity, instilling the “true faith,” completely destroyed both material culture and its bearers. The freedom-loving spirit of the Rodnovers irritates both the guardians of laws invented by people and, often, contradicting the Commandments of the Parent Family, as well as representatives of other faiths, slavishly grazing under the guidance of their shepherds in the hope of grazing, grazing and someday being saved.

24. Is the revival of Paganism widespread or is it the work of individuals?

As I already said, the slavish spirit is alien to the Native Faith. But he has penetrated so deeply into the consciousness of people that it is not enough to say “We are not slaves, we are not slaves.” It is vaccinated, it is brought up, it is absorbed with mother's milk. It is high time for the people to begin reviving their Ancestral Roots. Otherwise you won't survive.

25. How do you feel about extreme nationalistic versions of Paganism?

I consider the slogan “Beat the Jews - save Russia” provocative. No matter how trite it sounds, the Chukchi have the best time in Chukotka, the Caucasians have the best time in the Caucasus, and the Ethiopians have the best time in Ethiopia. After all, over many centuries they have become accustomed to this place organically, genetically. But if someone else comes to your house and feels like the master, then you are not the master in your house. Become a host, then those who come will behave like guests.

26. What can you add to what has been said?

When a person is an orphan and lives with foster parents or guardians, this does not mean that he did not have a father and mother who gave birth to him. Nature requires that parents be with the child, at least while he is small and defenseless. And it rarely happens that parents abandoned their child - only mentally ill people can afford this. They may simply not exist or they may be in exile or imprisonment. Even if a person does not remember his parents, then deep, genetic memory still works, and he himself externally and internally retains their features. This memory forces a person to look for his parents, think and learn about them. Parents are also looking for meetings with their children, trying to send messages either explicitly or implicitly (in dreams and dreams).

This is what happened in Rus' not a year or a hundred, but, count it, a whole thousand years ago. Preachers came and began to seduce the Russian people with rich promises and flattering persuasion, inviting them to abandon their Native faith and accept the Jewish, that is, Christian. We started with those in power. They did not immediately find the weak link, but they worked persistently, persistently... And now the prince, who proclaimed himself the Kagan of Rus', Vladimir, with fire and sword, drives the Russian people into the water, so that they renounce the Parent Family and their Ancestors - the Slavic-Aryan Natives Gods. Yes, and preachers are trying - they frighten people with a sinful life, they pour oil about the life of paradise, and they sing songs about the redemption of all sins by the God-man sacrificed on the cross. And they began to replace the Native and Glorious Gods with their own saints and began to commemorate them in those days when the Native Gods were glorified. And on the site of the brutally destroyed Temples and Sanctuaries they began to build churches. The Gods and Nature Spirits were slandered, they began to denigrate and call them dishonor, and the priests and magicians were killed mercilessly. But the Gods are immortal.

The Russian people finally became Christians. They became submissive and obedient. They began to say “I am a servant of God” and believed it. “Christ endured and commanded us,” grannies now bequeath to their grandchildren.

Christianity took up arms against the Native Faith, presenting It as vile, leading to worship and sacrifices to idols. But what is idol? These are just two words: Qom and Peace. A godfather is one who adds his own mind to the mind of his relative. Hence the proverb: “A mind is good, but two are better.” The word Peace does not need translation, although it has several meanings: local tribal community, all earthly and Heavenly Relatives, human society, the state of society without war, planet Earth, the Universal Universe. So, kummir is the one who adds to the mind of his Relative the minds of the entire community, the entire Family, all of Humanity: the mind of the Earth - Mother and the Universal Mind of the Family - Father. That’s why priests in Rus' have been telling the people for thousands of years:

“Do not make yourself an idol”! Those. Don’t even think about aligning your mind with the Collective Mind and Will of your Tribal Community, earthly and Heavenly Relatives, all of Humanity, Mother Earth, and most importantly, the Universal Mind and Will of the Parent Clan! Otherwise, how can priests continue to deceive people and keep them in slavery to Yahweh-Sabaoth-Jehovah?

The Slavic-Aryan Native Faith is based on concepts such as Nature, people, breed, which fundamentally contain the root basis of the Family: under the Family, on the Family, according to the Family.

Rod - Beginning, Progenitor and Creator of all Existence, Explicit and Implicit, Living and Inanimate, Supreme Almighty, All-One God. He gives birth and is present in everything, is the Foundation of everything. Therefore, to say: “I am the Race” will not be pride, self-deception, because everything and everyone is a particle of the Eternal and Infinite, the Generating and Destroying, which is the Race. His name also lives in such words as parent, give birth, dear, Motherland, harvest, spring. The main grain crop also bears this name - rye. Now by the word clan we understand relatives, Ancestors and Descendants, fellow countrymen and the whole People. But first of all, Rod is the Creative, Calling to Life, Producing Force in general.

The Native Gods do not forget their children, testing and strengthening their Spirit. People also do not forget their Ancestor Gods, sometimes unconsciously, at the call of Ancestral Memory.

And in festive joy, and in bitter sadness, and in the native Russian language, this memory of Rod and Svarog, Lada and Mokosh is alive. Peru is not Veles, Yaril and Kupala, Dazhdbog and Zhiva.

That is why the image of Lelya, unlike Lada or Mokosh, is never considered in accordance with everyday life. Lelya is always surrounded by wild nature - on the edge of the forest, by the river. A gentle warm wind strokes her hair, a doe and a fox touch her hands with their wet noses. The goddess was imagined as a young, beautiful, slender and tall girl. B.A. Rybakov believes that the second goddess depicted on the Zbruch idol and holding a ring in her right bow is Lada. In folklore, Lada is often mentioned next to Lelya. In the spring, Lelya first sends her messengers - affectionate guys - winds, rays of the tender sun, the first thunder and lightning. Then she herself sits on the wings of birds and flies to the ground along with a variety of flowers, cheerful singing and buzzing of beetles, and also with the hope of a better life: for a harvest, for the offspring of livestock, for an increase in the family. And with hope it brings peace, love, joy and creative inspiration to righteous work in the name of the Family. When winter reigns here, the sorceress Lelya rests with her father, the Sun-Dazhdbog, in the bird kingdom-paradise, in Iria, and where the souls of relatives live. There she has fun with the birds, with the souls of her parents and grandparents. When Dazhdbog the Trisvetly sends his daughter Lelya to earth, spring comes to us. Images of birds are very common in everyday life - this is the custom of baking cookies in the form of larks for the arrival of spring and dishes - ladles and brothers in the form of stylized birds (ducks and swans), and women's amulets in the form of a duck. The reason for this is the activity of neo-pagans in the last few years in RuNet: not a single patriotic online community, not a single public social network patriotic orientation cannot do without a “brigade of zealots of the faith of the fathers,” or, more simply, Rodnovers.

All this and much more serves as a reason to talk about the phenomenon of neo-paganism in more detail. And not only in a strictly religious, but also in a political sense. Since Russian neo-paganism, in the words of one of its apologists, the now deceased Vladimir Pribylovsky, "the most politicized quasi-religion, a mythologized form of racial, ethnic and religious xenophobia".

The history of the emergence of neo-paganism in Russia

Neopaganism is not only a Russian phenomenon, but a worldwide one. There are neo-pagans both in Greece and in Scandinavia, both in Britain and in the USA. However, it is necessary to separate traditional religious pagan beliefs from neo-pagan cults. Paganism in the religious sense is, for example, the shamanism of the northern peoples of Russia or Indian tribes North America , is traditional Hinduism, or the beliefs of some African tribes. Actually, in these religious movements, first of all, tradition can be traced, that is, the chain of continuity of the priesthood through initiation rites. Such communities do not aim to actively participate in politics or, especially, to engage in extremist activities. The methods of expansionist recruitment of new adherents, which are characteristic of various kinds of totalitarian cults, are also alien to traditional pagans.

When the topic of pseudo-nationalism, ultra-patriotism and militarism appears in a neo-pagan environment, then we're talking about First of all, about the current of the “Rodnovers”. But this is still only a segment of neo-pagan movements in the general Russian sectarian palette.

However, common characteristic features can still be identified. Firstly, the diversity of neo-pagan organizations and cults (and neo-paganism is not a specific structure, but an entire subculture with many communities and doctrines) is not based on the notorious tradition or chain of succession.

All pseudo-paganism is a kind of reconstruction, moreover, with a fair amount of artistic invention.

Various researchers determine the appearance of neo-paganism in different dates, but everyone agrees that the heyday of this movement around the world began in the 20th century. In Russia we can talk about Marshal Tukhachevsky, as the first herald of neo-paganism, who, together with the poet Nikolai Zhilyaev sent a note to the Council of People's Commissars with a proposal to make paganism the state religion in the young Soviet republic. The official ideology of Hitler's Germany was openly based on occultism and neo-pagan cults. The oppositionists planted the dream of national revival in a new way into the oppressed consciousness of the Germans. Traditional Christian institutions were identified with the surrender in the First World War. The decisive factor in the revival of power was recognized as the conversion of Germany to neo-paganism. The swastika, as a different, pagan cross, a sign of victory and good luck, associated with the cult of the sun and fire, was opposed to the Christian cross as a symbol of humiliation worthy of “subhumans.” Towards the end of the Hitler regime, attempts were made, organized from above, to replace and supplant the Christian Sacraments with neo-pagan rituals, the holiday of the Nativity of Christ with the winter solstice. There was always a pagan context in the Nazis' public events and private celebrations. But in Russia, the discourse about the “white warrior with the faith of his ancestors in his heart” has been around for many years. In a number of neo-pagan organizations, recruitment is on stream, and integration into social and political structures is very, very preferable. Moreover, mimicry flourishes in this system: pagan organizations disguise themselves, for example, as cultural and educational centers and even actively cooperate with municipal authorities.

How does this happen, say, in Podolsk, where Vitaly Sundakov’s “Slavic Kremlin” takes place. Nominally, people are engaged in “reconstructing the culture of their ancestors.” In fact, just go to their official site to see that we are talking about a full-fledged cult community. At the same time, the Sundakovites work with all age groups, including children, as part of the Slavic Druzhina program. Ideology and structure

The doctrines of various neo-pagan cults differ according to very different criteria. Moreover, such structures are constantly divided and split, despite the fact that they preach a kind of “pagan pan-Slavic unity.” The largest organization of this kind in our country today is the Union of Slavic Communities of the Slavic Native Faith, which categorically and officially rejects a number of neo-pagan doctrines, and also condemns neo-pagan ideologists like Alexander Khinevich, Barkashov, Yuri Petukhov and many others.

However, to one degree or another, all Rodnovers differ in a number of characteristic features. First of all, this is Christianophobia. The second point, characteristic of most Rodnovers, is “ethno-religious nationalism,” in most cases expressed in a radical form.

This is a very unique way of looking at Russian history, which was “stolen” from the pagans. Who? Well, of course, Christians. It turns out to be a kind of political-religious revanchism. Current Russian authorities within the framework of Rodnoverie views, they are also “occupiers, hostile to faith and life according to the behests of their ancestors.”

The patriotism of the Rodnovers is based on the principle of religion: that is, a Russian neo-pagan is much closer to some Ukrainian Wotanist or an adherent of “RUN-Vira” (which will be discussed below) than the same Russian, but Orthodox or agnostic. Russian Rodnovers are also in close contact with Ukrainian structures. Moreover, according to some reports, a number of Russian adherents of neo-paganism are fighting in volunteer battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the DPR/LPR militias. Because in Ukraine there are a number of purely neo-pagan paramilitary units, which in ideology are much closer to the Russian Rodnovers than something “occupation-Christian-pro-Russian”.

In Ukraine, the level of extremism of local neo-paganism is off the charts. In addition to the traditional Rodnovers praying to Khors on the island of Khortitsa (an island in Dnieper, which is a kind of “Zaporozhye Mecca” for Ukrainian cultists), there is in Ukraine, for example, "Wotanists"- fans of Wotan, or Odin. Moreover, when the Rodnovers say that they are a purely religious movement, they lie here too, since today this type of neo-paganism is politicized in the greatest possible way. And it is politicized precisely in the key of total rejection of Russian political realities.
