How drawing affects a person. Drawing is good and bad for adults and children. The role of drawing in child development

Drawing is not just creativity. This is a special process that has a certain effect on the human body, his psyche. Many people draw, not just because they enjoy the process. In the process of drawing, some people are distracted from problems, while drawing helps others to concentrate. A lot has been written and said about the benefits of drawing for children. And what about adults? Does drawing benefit an adult? Let's figure it out.

So, when a person draws, his brain rejoices. In the truest sense! The drawing process affects several areas of the human brain at once. So, the frontal lobe is responsible for planning, movement, emotions. In addition to movements, the parietal part also controls perception with orientation. But the visual data is processed by the occipital part. The temple area is mainly responsible for memory.

Drawing also affects the cerebellum, which controls all additional movements. Therefore, in the process of drawing, a person concentrates as much as possible. At the same time, he remains completely relaxed. The human body begins to actively produce the neurotransmitter dopamine. This is why some people experience emotional satisfaction. Others argue that drawing helps them focus.

In addition, psychologists are convinced that drawing is a great way for those who want to deal with their feelings. It's also a great way to show your own personality. People who are fond of drawing expand their social circle significantly. In the process of drawing, a person studies the world around him in detail and conveys his feelings on paper or canvas. This is the best method for making a connection between feelings and ideas.

When a person paints, he expresses his self-expression through creativity. Drawing is thinking through images. This is a great way to explore and understand. How to understand this? When a person draws from nature, he interprets and visualizes what he sees. Also, a person can depict what he is thinking.

With the help of a drawing, a person can capture images and landscapes for many years. And he can do it as he sees fit. In other words, the way he sees and feels. The drawing can be realistic, black and white or colorful, flat, stylized, and so on.

It is sad that many adults deny themselves the pleasure of drawing. They naively assume that only gifted people can draw. In reality, this is not at all the case. Therefore, if you have a desire to draw, then do not resist it!

I want to talk a little about the need for drawing for children. Yes, exactly the need :) as one of the factors of creative development and the development of imaginative thinking. For some reason, it is widely believed that children's drawing must necessarily lead to the profession of an artist. And if the child does not learn to draw academic drawings in the genre of Soviet realism (so that the parents feel "similar"), then there is nothing to take. First, the idea of creativity and its need for a child is very different from this stereotype. Secondly, every person from birth has the ability to create - absolutely EVERYONE. It's just that those adults who claim that they "have no talents" have successfully drowned these abilities out of the environment, or they did it on their own. Some have fewer abilities, some have more - but everyone has them. It also happens that a person with small abilities "squeezes" the maximum out of his resources and achieves much more than that, which by nature is uniquely gifted with different talents, but all of them "buried".
So, absolutely all children have a penchant for creativity. And all the children try to draw somehow - I call any dashes and dashes "draw", and not just an academic drawing. But not everyone from this identical start then comes to the ability to generate images and express themselves and their attitude to the world through images. A very large percentage precisely because of the stereotype that creativity means painting a landscape in oil on canvas or playing the violin at the Philharmonic. But this is not a goal, the goal is the development of creativity. Creative thinking helps a lot to be variable everywhere - not only at work, but also in family life, raising children, in any area!
Also, a large percentage of people abandon all attempts to engage in creativity for only one sad reason - not seeing support. Many parents believe that in order for children to paint, parents themselves must be at least artists. But this is not at all the case. I’m not saying that everyone is obliged to love drawing. Perhaps mom is selflessly knitting, or is engaged in organic chemistry, or is fond of French literature, or learns Greek, or runs on roller skates. The main thing is that she has a way of self-expression and some kind of favorite thing.

There are several "difficulty levels" for child drawing support:
1.just don't get in the way :)
every child in early childhood tries to do something about it. he just needs not to prohibit it, but to provide materials and respond positively to his "dissimilar" work. and he does not need to see the "painting mother" for this - for a child this is a natural thing, he does not need to be specially "taught" to this, he is just experimenting.

2. Encourage sketching of impressions.
"Look how heavy it is raining! Would you like to draw it?" - for this, again, it is not necessary to sit and draw by yourself and generally be able to do it.

3. Encourage creativity for others.
"Grandma's birthday is coming soon. Can you draw a picture for her?" - it can also be done without any creative activities of your own.

4. give the child ideas - master classes from the Internet, from magazines, etc. for this it is enough just to voice it, and not to perform it yourself.

5. engage in together, do joint projects - this is where the participation of parents is needed, but your own creative abilities are NOT NEEDED yet. it is enough to try to be in the position of a child and also "play with colors." making blots together, mixing colors, handprints - you don't have to be an artist for that.

6. to study together, teaching the child - only here, at the last "level of difficulty", the parent is required to have his own "drawing skills". but why do many want to see only this level, and do not want to see the other five? and they provide no less support! Moreover, without the child's own experiments, this teaching will not be creativity, but the transfer of ready-made templates. But the best news for those who "cannot draw" is that this last point of support for the child's creativity is not at all necessary! Just all kinds of techniques and techniques a child can learn from anyone and anywhere, if he has sophisticated needs for creativity, and this comes from the family.

It is important that creativity leaves the child freedom - to invent for himself, to look for new materials and tools, to experiment. And there was no obligation "according to the program" - the child must draw three pictures every day, otherwise he does not develop! Maybe he won't touch the paint for several months. Maybe he loves not the generally accepted artistic means (crayons-pencils-paints), but "his own" - sand, sticks, whatever. The main thing is that he himself comes up with his own images, and does not receive ready-made ones from his mother or paint coloring pages.

I receive comments that "the child does not draw, because I do not like to draw, and I do not consider it necessary to do what I do not like." I agree that nothing can be done through force with disgust, especially for a child. But here is a very big question - IS IT possible for us to do EVERYTHING in life with absolutely no effort? Or somewhere, in another area, not for a child, we know how to make efforts, but for him - no? A simple example: a mother is an introvert, and it was not customary in her family to share her experiences, she was not used to telling her parents and family about herself. And she does not speak "heart to heart" with her child - after all, it is hard for her, why put in efforts, rape herself? But now adolescence comes, and the mother wants to learn everything from the child, and not from the teachers or from the juvenile affairs inspector, for example. But where does the child suddenly begin to share his innermost, if his mother never revealed herself? Therefore, when you do not want to make an effort, you need to ask yourself the question: which is better - to sit quietly in your comfort zone, or to make an effort on yourself, because the result is still worth it? And it is impossible to cherish your unresolved children's complexes, and at the same time try to bring up a free, holistic, harmonious personality! The child first of all accepts what is inside us, he has deep invisible connections with his parents. This is higher than the "correct" classes with teachers, where he is given to "develop".

I often receive comments and letters like this: "I had a three-piece at school in drawing, I can’t do anything," "I was discouraged from any kind of creativity at school." Why do adults imagine that a forever formed and never changing person leaves school? What if you learn a new skill at 30? How about getting a new hobby at 35? Re-acquaintance with paints at 40? Learning to swim at 45? The main thing is your desire. There is no need to justify your position by what ... twenty years ago happened in a kindergarten or school. You are no longer in the kindergarten :) can you do something on your own? Creative thinking simply adorns the personality, opens up new facets of life, fills it! Therefore, I invite everyone to break down the long-built walls around their creative abilities and set them free!

Drawing for children is not only interesting, but also useful. It develops perception and imagination, teaches graphic skills, teaches how to observe the world, gives children new knowledge about the environment, and develops fine motor skills of the hands.

By drawing, the kid learns to see and imagine images, and then to recreate them. Such a unique property as creativity develops at an early age, and it is in creative activity.

The more new images your baby creates, the better his intellectual abilities and mental operations develop in the future.

With the help of drawing, the child also develops speech. Even before he begins to depict anything concrete, he already "talks" about his scribbles and sees familiar images in them.

While drawing, children often comment on what they are depicting, and the child's drawing becomes a living picture. You need to carefully listen to the baby's stories and ask leading questions, be interested in the characters, plot and details. Ready? Let's get started!

Drawing for kids: age matters

Already that toddler who has learned to sit confidently can be given paints in his hands. Of course, finger. Lay out whatman paper in front of him, show how to dip your finger in the paint. What will he portray?

0-2 years old. Pointless scribbles and strokes, involuntary lines drawn in a chaotic mess.

2-3 years. Formless images that are visually similar to early drawings, but now the baby seeks to find meaning in his work.

3-8 years old... Schematic images. At this time, the child makes drawings built according to certain canons (heaven and earth in the form of stripes at the edges of the sheet, the lack of perspective and real relationships of objects).

Believable images will appear at a more meaningful age. For this to happen, you need to train the hand even for the smallest baby.

How and with what to draw a child?

There are actually a lot of drawing tools. What to draw for a child depends only on your imagination. It's time to move away from traditional drawing with pencils, felt-tip pens and brushes, because they require certain skills, and at an early age they are not enough. We offer unconventional tools!

Drawing with fingers, palms and feet. To do this, you should "smear" your fingers and palms in paint. Using your fingers, you can draw raindrops, peas, chicken seeds, leaves on trees. And turn the handprint into a jellyfish, rays for the sun, hedgehog, crab or caterpillar. You can also "smear" the baby's foot, and then leave the prints of the feet on paper. It is better to use a Whatman paper or a large unnecessary piece of wallpaper so that the child has the opportunity to walk on the paper and leave prints of his legs.

Ear sticks. With their help, the child will draw not only points, but also lines (stripes on a zebra, a fence, grass).

Traffic jams. Only wooden ones are suitable for drawing. You need to dip the cork in the paint
and press it well against a sheet of paper so that the print is bright and colorful. Corks can be used to depict apples on trees, balls, toys on the tree, beads for mom.

Fork. Dip the prongs of the fork in the paint and draw needles for a hedgehog, a fluffy dandelion or a mane for a lion.

Washcloth, toothbrush, sponge. They are suitable for painting over large objects (apple, tree, car). At first, you can only give one can of paint. Then enter the rest of the colors. These paints can be painted not only on paper, but also on cardboard, glass, even on the body.

When the little one grows up and learns to use a brush, feel free to give him gouache or watercolor. Experts recommend using liquid gouache, as it is bright, non-toxic, has an optimal consistency and does not require dilution with water. But for a start, use large brushes.

Drawing is pleasant both at home and on the street. For painting on the snow, watercolor diluted in water, or an ordinary stick is suitable. Let the canvas of snow under your feet turn into a canvas, and your imagination knows no bounds!

A big plus of finger paints is that they are harmless, wash off well from any surfaces and can be easily washed off. And you can also use them to paint in the bathroom, then you can wash off such paint in a couple of minutes.

DIY finger paints

You will need:

  • 1/2 kg flour
  • 5 tbsp. l. salt
  • 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil
  • food colorings

Pour all the ingredients (without dyes) into one container, add water and mix with a mixer until the consistency of thick sour cream. Then pour the resulting mass into separate jars, add food coloring (beetroot or carrot juice). Stir until smooth. Instead of food coloring, you can use Easter egg coloring kits.

Important rules for children's drawing

Drawing strokes and lines on paper is creativity. It is important that you lead the child, but do not direct him.

  • To provide the crumbs with maximum scope for creativity, remember the main rule: you cannot interfere with your advice and recommendations in the drawing process.
  • Draw on the floor. From the point of view of free drawing, sitting children at children's tables or easels constrains their movements, limits their imagination and causes inconvenience.
  • Show me an example. In the early stages of drawing, you can take the baby's hand in yours and draw with him. Then invite him to do it on his own, initially showing how to draw with this or that tool.
  • It is very important to let the little one draw with both the right and the left hand (the left hand must be involved in the process).

Why does a child need drawing and why is it important to focus on this hobby? Surely many parents ask these questions. We will try to give answers to them in the material below. We will also tell you about painting and isotherapy tools.

Why is drawing useful?

Drawing is one of the very first manifestations of a person's personality. It may seem to an adult that there is no point in the baby's first "scabbards", but in fact, the first drawings indicate the development and working capacity of the child's brain. A small person who has not yet mastered fine motor skills, with the help of drawing, learns to see the connection between hand movements and the result. Here he draws lines and squiggles in a chaotic manner, after a while he can already draw them in a more orderly manner, forming a certain plot. As he grows older, he will learn to express his own emotions with the help of children's drawing and color rendering.

A small person constantly sees something new for himself, learns something interesting. With the help of drawing, he can form, organize this knowledge, give it a certain assessment through the color rendition, shape, size of the image.
The researcher of children's creativity L. S. Vygotsky identifies several stages in the evolution of children's drawing:

  1. Schematic representation.
  2. Shapes and lines.
  3. Plausible drawing.
  4. Spatial images.

The higher the child climbs these steps, the more logical brain processes are involved in drawing. Indeed, in order to depict an object, you first need to consider or invent it, remember the shape, color, proportions, analyze, be able to bring the elements seen into a single whole.

At what age and why attend drawing lessons

Fine arts lessons are taught at school, but many parents take their children to the fine arts section even in preschool age. You may be surprised at this fact, because why bother so hard if you can draw at home. It is better to pay attention to something more "serious" in the classroom with a teacher. In fact, professional art classes will be productive not only for future artists.

In order to better understand why a child needs drawing, we will clearly formulate the tasks that it sets for itself:

  • Correct hand position... A correctly placed hand from an early age has a positive effect on the formation of handwriting in the future. You can see for yourself that people who drew a lot in childhood, as a rule, write beautifully and legibly.
  • Development of children's motor skills directly affecting a person's speech.
  • Memory training... Often, the drawing teacher asks children to draw something from memory, for example, a favorite toy or a picture that he shows for several minutes and removes from the field of vision.
  • Development of perseverance in the lesson, composure.
  • The manifestation of the individuality of the child.
  • Learning the basics of geometry and color definition... In drawing lessons, a child can learn how to convey the sizes of objects, their proportionality. Older children will be able to define and convey halftones, shadows.
  • Development of interest in creativity as such... During drawing lessons, the child's right hemisphere of the brain, which is responsible for creative thinking, is actively working. From here, a love of reading and other intellectual pursuits will gradually develop, which will allow your baby to become a versatile person.

In order to engage in drawing lessons at preschool age with professional teachers, the child should not initially have any artistic talent at all. The main thing is that he himself should like this process and be interesting. Parents should understand that a child, attending drawing lessons, does not necessarily become a little Van Gogh or Aivazovsky. In preschool and primary school age, the final children's drawings are not so much important as the solution of the above problems.

How to determine artistic talent in a school-age child

Many children love to draw, and many do it very well for their age. But often parents exaggerate the abilities of their beloved child, taking really beautiful, but quite ordinary drawings, for a manifestation of exceptional talent. It is important to understand that children prefer to express themselves precisely through drawing, since they still do not know how to do it differently. But in an art school, children will have to draw "at the behest", that is, they will need to complete certain tasks according to the curriculum, which can discourage this activity. Studying in a professional art school requires diligence, perseverance, hard work. In addition, her visit will have to be combined with a comprehensive school, which carries additional loads. Therefore, do not rush to send your child to a professional school until you are sure that this is exactly what he needs.

How do you recognize true talent from a simple short-term interest in an activity? To begin with, you can try the following test: give your child two identical black and white drawings of opposite meanings and ask them to color them. For example, portraits of an evil and kind person. If the young artist was able to convey the mood of the image with the help of color, moreover, he did it deliberately and can explain the choice of certain shades, then perhaps talent has a place to be. If he just painted the pictures without focusing on a certain color rendition, then drawing, rather, is just an interesting activity.

What contemporary artists paint

There are a lot of drawing tools. Some of them are easy to use, while others will have to learn to manage. Let's talk about the tools that children can use to draw:

  1. Finger paint. This material will be to the liking of the smallest, since there is no need to strain your hand when taking a brush or pencil. And there is wider scope for pranks. Finger paints for children are made on the basis of safe materials, they are thick, do not spill and have a pleasant texture. It is rare to find babies who refuse to draw with pens.
  2. Pencils... This is a common children's drawing tool that does not stain clothes, skin, etc. When choosing pencils for a child, it is better to give preference to products of a triangular shape, since they are the most convenient to hold in the hand.
  3. Markers. In addition to the variety of colors, markers are also available with different thicknesses of the drawing element. Thin - for contours, thick - for coloring.
  4. Blow-pen paint tubes... If you blow into such a tube, directing it to the paper, then a trace will remain in the form of a dot. If you blow and at the same time drive over the canvas, you will get drawings. An interesting drawing tool with which the respiratory system is trained.
  5. Sand. Sand painting is now popular to such an extent that specialized schools are opening for this particular type of creativity. In them, children are allowed to draw with sand on the backlit glass. Whole masterpieces are created using this technique.
  6. Cereals. You can draw interesting volumetric pictures from cereals. For the base, thick cardboard is used, which is abundantly coated with glue, and material is poured on top in the form of a certain image. With this technique, you can use different cereals, but semolina is best placed, which, after the glue dries, can be painted with paints.
  7. Paints... For children's art, it is best to take watercolors or gouache, and young "professional" artists will certainly enjoy working with oil.
  8. Plasticine... Plasticine drawing is actively used in kindergartens. This technique develops fine motor skills and is very useful in preparing a child's hands for writing.

If you allow children to draw with materials that are still unknown to them, then you will arouse their delight and interest.

One becomes a creative person when all the inclinations develop from childhood. You don't need to think that if a child was born with talents or prete ...

What is Isotherapy?

Various types of art in modern times are actively used for correctional and therapeutic and prophylactic purposes. This phenomenon is called "art therapy". It is a form of psychotherapeutic treatment and is used to diagnose the emotional state of a child, as well as to treat with the help of art. One of the branches of art therapy is isotherapy, which is considered the most studied and often used type of such treatment.

Why does a child need painting as a treatment? This method of psychological correction is based on the analytical worldview of Jung and Freud. It helps a person, in particular a child, to get rid of negative emotions, relieve nervous tension, get rid of fears and find out their root cause. With the help of a psychotherapist, a child will be able to recreate a conflict situation, play it in a way convenient for the psyche, and realize it. With the help of drawing by children, a psychotherapist can even identify difficult-to-verbalize problems and experiences in patients, reveal those feelings that they do not even know about. Isotherapy helps a schoolchild in increasing self-esteem, relieving stiffness and imbalance, and aggressive behavior. She will allow him to cope with jealousy and feelings of loneliness.

In the classroom, all types of drawing materials are used: paints, pencils, crayons, etc. It is necessary to engage in isotherapy with a specialist in this matter. The teacher, relying on the child's drawing, will be able to classify the psychological and emotional state of a young patient, and draw up an individual treatment program.

We hope that you have found in the material the answers to the question of why a child needs drawing, and that you will devote more time and attention to this particular activity.

One of the easiest ways to express an emotional state and get rid of negative emotions is art therapy (art therapy).

Drawing is the most popular of the techniques. With the help of paper and pencil, canvas and paints, a pen and a notebook, you can overcome depression, apathy, aggression and phobias.

Psychologists say that drawing is useful at any age and has a positive effect on people with a healthy psyche and mental problems.

Let's take a closer look at the benefits of drawing for adults and children.

What the experts say

According to Sofia Charina, a painting teacher, there are absolutely no people who do not paint. There are circumstances: parents, teachers, society, which create situations of "failure". A person begins to think too badly of himself. There are undoubtedly very talented people. Everyone else has the opportunity to create, but the desire is repulsed.

Vrezh Kirakosyan, a portrait painter, believes:

  • Drawing helps to look at the world with different eyes. You begin to love nature, people and animals more strongly. You start to appreciate everything more!
  • The very process of drawing evokes incredible, delightful emotions. A person is spiritually enriched and grows above himself, develops and reveals his hidden abilities.
  • You need to draw in order to be happy and to give the world goodness and beauty.

The benefits of drawing for adults

Drawing helps to plunge into a different atmosphere, to look at the world with a different look.

Easels and paints are not required to create paintings. You can draw anywhere and with anything: with chalk on the asphalt, with a pen on the newspaper.

This kind of creativity helps in the treatment of psychological and physical problems. An adult can put all their fears and emotions on paper and get rid of them.

With the help of drawing, memory and thinking develop, a person becomes open and self-confident. It is a great way to express yourself and shape your aesthetic taste.

Pros:

  1. helps to express oneself;
  2. develops memory, thinking, concentration and attention;
  3. helps to get rid of psychological problems and depression;
  4. improves mood and self-esteem;
  5. soothes, fills with new strength and energy;
  6. introduces to the beautiful;

Drawing develops the brain and serves to prevent brain diseases, in particular Alzheimer's disease and senile marasmus.

For pregnant

In 1938, British artist Adrian Hill discovered that creative pursuits are an excellent way to distract patients from emotional distress, helping to cope with an illness.

By the second half of the twentieth century, the fascination and usefulness of such a pastime was proven and applied to pregnant women.

In group lessons, pregnant women are often asked to explain their own or other people's pictures, but for independent experience it is much more important to try to simply express yourself.

Do not be shy about your unusual desires. If you want to paint with pastels that you have never held in your hands, feel free to start.

It occurred to me to paint the glass on the door to the room - great (don't forget about the special stained glass paints).

The meaning of art therapy is to establish contact with your inner world, to express your emotions and experiences in creativity. And this can be done only by forgetting about the conventions and allowing yourself to do whatever you think is necessary.

Body art

The creation of bright positive pictures on their own rounded tummy evokes the most pleasant emotions in mothers. You can also involve your future dad in drawing. This will allow you to become even closer and establish contact with the baby immediately after childbirth.

It is very important to choose the right paint used so that it does not harm the body of the mother and child. It is best to use theatrical or children's makeup. It is specially designed to be applied to the skin, which means it is safe, elastic, will not run or get dirty.

The choice of a pattern for the tummy is largely determined by the spherical shape of the base. Draw what will cheer you up: sun, chamomile, sunflower, smile, watermelon and other positive objects.

During the creative process, do not forget to communicate with the baby, tell him what is happening now. And be sure to take a photo for memory. A few years later, the child will look at creativity with interest.

For kids

The earlier the kid starts drawing, the faster he learns the world around him.

Fine motor skills of the hands

The kid learns to take and hold a pencil, to act purposefully with it. Thanks to this, fine motor skills of the hands develop.

Psychologists say that the better, the smarter and smarter he is, the better and faster his speech will develop.

Development of mental processes

Drawing stimulates the development of attention, memory, imagination. Through drawing, the baby expresses himself, expresses his emotions and feelings in the drawing, this contributes to the development of the personality.

Thinking and speaking

The child explains what he has drawn, how and why.

Creative skills

When creating a drawing, the kid creates his own world every time, and this is extremely important for him.

Math ability

While drawing, the child learns to analyze, compare, orientate himself on the plane (up and down, left and right), estimate the distance (closer - farther), the value (more - less, high - low).

How to keep your interest in drawing

  1. Express your admiration for the drawing, show what is interesting to you, ask the kid what he painted, why he chose such colors, etc.
  2. Recognize the child's new creativity and skills.
  3. Do not criticize the drawing, do not laugh at it.
  4. Do not force your child to draw, he should do it of his own free will.
  5. Looking at the pictures, point out the positive dynamics, the baby will feel that he is doing better every time.

At what age to start drawing with a child

Children get interested in drawing very early. They see older children and adults draw and write and try to imitate them. You can stimulate this interest and not wait for the child to ask you for pencils or paints, but specifically invite him to be creative.

Let him first just observe how you draw. After all, his handles are still weak enough to hold a brush or pencil.

Somewhere from 4 months, you can invite the child to paint with paints with his fingers and palms. And when the pens get stronger (closer to the second year of life), offer him a brush first, then pencils and felt-tip pens.

Do not rush to teach your child to draw from the first lessons. Let him start by scribbling funny scribbles on paper. This is the first stage of drawing your kid goes through. Until about 2 years old, your little artist will play with a pencil, just scratching it on paper and not creating specific images.

At this stage of development, you can teach your child:

  • hold a pencil, felt-tip pen, etc. correctly;
  • draw points, lines, simple geometric shapes;
  • paint over shapes.

Where to begin

First, show your child how to use the pencil correctly. Draw something simple and accessible to the baby - lines, simple figures, a house, a cloud, the sun. After that, give a pencil to the child and be sure to praise him if he draws at least a couple of strokes or dots.

Take your baby's hand in yours and draw slowly with him. First, draw straight and wavy lines, circles, ovals, then gradually complicate the image. This will help your child to quickly master the basic movements, use his muscle memory.

The lesson will be more interesting and informative if you read poetry or sing a song and at the same time draw what you are talking or singing about.

Drawing with sand: what is the use

Ease of use

To organize a workplace, you will need: glass, a lamp and sifted fine sand. The kid can be given semolina or granulated sugar.

This material is very flexible, so children can change the image in one move, without using an eraser or redrawing. Sand animation allows you to create hundreds of different pictures on just one "canvas" made of glass.

Child's age

Children of all ages, even the smallest, can start drawing with sand. Such art is necessary for the development of fine motor skills, as well as lessons using finger paints and plasticine.

For older children, drawing with sand is also useful.

Experts note an improvement in academic performance among those who like to engage in sand animation. After all, such creative activities among schoolchildren stimulate thought processes, the development of speech, logical and imaginative thinking.

Knowledge of the world

With the help of drawing with sand, the child becomes familiar with the texture of materials. Wet sand is no less interesting, it can be smeared on glass.

Aesthetic enjoyment

Drawings made with sand are very original and beautiful. They can embody all the imagination of a little artist.

Benefits of Right Brain Drawing

The right hemisphere of the brain is responsible for our creative perception of life, when we think not only in facts, but also in images. Everything that helps you think creatively is collected here. This skill is needed not only for people of creative professions (artists, writers, musicians, etc.). Even if you've worked as an accountant your entire life, developing your right brain will open up new opportunities for you.

For the first time, they started talking about the method of right-hemispheric drawing in the 80s. This technique was made possible by Nobel laureate psychobiologist Roger Walcott Sperry. It was he who investigated the work of the brain.

The American artist Betty Edwards is considered the founder of the method of right hemispheric drawing. She has developed exercises that help you transition into the so-called "R-mode".

During the "P-mode", the work of the left hemisphere is temporarily suspended, due to which a person can, without analyzing, immediately transfer his vision of any object to a sheet of paper. Evaluation is disabled, you don't think how it should look, you just draw.

Betty Edwards' techniques are widely known all over the world, but today every artist already has his own experience in the technique of right hemispheric drawing. Such exercises include, for example, finger drawing or drawing ignoring the borders of the sheet.

What are the advantages of right hemispheric drawing? Let's consider further.

You don't have to be a talented artist

Moreover, you may not be able to draw at all! It is this method that allows many to reveal their abilities for painting and other drawing techniques. If you thought all your life that you could never create something serious on paper than a house, the sun and grass, then you should attend a master class in right-brain drawing to see how wide your possibilities are.
